Lea este boletín en Español A Letter from Los Angeles County Board Chair & Supervisor Hilda L. Solis Dear Friends, As we go into the 4th of July holiday weekend, I want to emphasize the importance of celebrating safely among family and loved ones. I know we have longed for the day that we could finally gather with others and while the County has fully re-opened, the pandemic is not yet over. In recent weeks, we have seen the Delta variant circulating heavily among unvaccinated individuals, which means that if you are not yet vaccinated, you are still at risk. Together, we can stop the spread of COVID-19 and all it takes is one action: to get vaccinated. My office continues to host mobile vaccine clinics across the First District and there are many other sites through the Department of Public Health with great incentives. To find a participating vaccination site near you, please visit: VaccinateLACounty.com or call 833-540-0473. Residents who are home-bound can also call to schedule an in-person vaccine appointment, right at your front door! As always if you have any questions, you can reach out to my office. I hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July! Sincerely, Chair Hilda L. Solis Supervisor, First District

SAFELY CELEBRATING 4TH OF JULY

This week, I hosted a press conference in partnership with the Los Angeles County Fire Department to talk about the dangers of fireworks in our communities. Not only are they physically dangerous, but fireworks can also cause a lot of distress among Veterans, babies and pets. They also pose an environmental hazard and are illegal in unincorporated areas of LA County. You can learn more at the video below.

A VISIT FROM SECRETARY BECERRA

Today, I had the honor of joining Secretary Becerra for a tour and press conference of the Pomona Fairplex Emergency Intake Site. During the tour, we had the opportunity to hear from the staff on-site who are providing compassionate and holistic care for the unaccompanied children. To date, over 1,000 children have been successfully reunified! My office and the County are proud to serve in this humanitarian mission and to be a part of #TeamHope.
