Stephen McKinney-Whitaker CALL TO WORSHIP FROM PSALM 33 (read responsively) Lift up your heads, O you Gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The LORD strong and mighty. *HYMN 267 Come, Christians, Join to Sing *CONFESSION OF SIN (Unison) Rev. Marie Buffaloe Lord, our King, we confess our tendency to build homes and kingdoms that are more for us than they are for you. We confess the pride we take in our own security and ability to protect and to preserve. We would construct a home for you, to control your presence and power in our lives. In your mercy, forgive us of our grasping for the divine and for our failure to under- stand that all that we have and all that we are is solely because you build the house and you establish the kingdom. (Continue to pray silently) *ASSURANCE OF GRACE Friends, remember your baptism and believe the good news. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. *RESPONSE OF PRAISE 592 Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow OLD HUNDREDTH Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise God all creatures here below; Praise God above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
