Goals My Role: To support the front office treasury risk management activities of the group, principally the development and execution of foreign exchange, fuel and interest rate risk strategies in accordance with the approved Treasury Risk Management Policy (TRMP). In addition, the role will include project work supporting the Treasury and Fleet Management team’s objectives. My Department: Treasury’s key goal is to manage the financial risks of the Airlines Group, provide timely and accurate analysis and information to support management and the Board in achieving their objectives and strategies and to actively manage risks through hedging, cash management and structured funding activities.

Expertise Must have Great to have

Knowledge  Knowledge of foreign exchange, and  Aviation/ airline experience and interest rate markets knowledge  Understanding of financial instruments,  Knowledge of fuel and fuel hedging including option based hedging markets products.  Understanding of the requirements of AASB 139 and accounting for financial instruments

Qualifications  Degree qualified in finance, accounting  Post graduate qualification (Treasury, or related discipline Finance)

Skills  Effective written and verbal  Proven experience interacting at senior communication skills, including management level presentation skills  Experience using Visual Risk, Bloomberg  Demonstrable systems abilities and a and Reuters. high level of computer literacy, including advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills  Treasury Management System experience

Experience  At least 5 years in a corporate treasury/risk management or financial markets role in a dealing capacity

Key Accountabilities Accountability Major activities Performance Indicators 1. Fuel price risk, foreign  Identify key business risks relating to [Click here] exchange risk, interest rate exposure to financial markets risk and carbon price risk.  Contract advisor to the business on exposure to market risks and hedging strategies  Support the development and presentation of risk management strategies  Execute financial risk management strategies, including deal pricing, deal execution and deal entry.  Support the hedging requirements for subsidiaries, including , VARA and Virgin 2. Cash and Liquidity  Support cash reporting and liquidity requirements of the group, seeking opportunities to optimise working capital  Support the placement of cash on deposit to optimise opportunities associated with surplus cash positions 3. Counterparty Credit Risk  Monitor credit lines and credit concentration, providing timely advice to Head of Financial Risk and Group Treasurer  Maintain ISDA documentation and associated dealing documentation to support hedging requirements 4. Risk analysis  Development and support of at risk analysis and support of front office activities, including cashflow at risk and value at risk methodologies.  Stress test hedging strategies providing reporting and analysis of their effectiveness including option v fixed based hedge products  Undertake risk reporting for senior management and business units. 5. Planning and Reporting  Provide input into the planning and reporting process for fuel, currency and interest rate expectations inclusive and exclusive of hedging positions.  Monitor treasury performance against budget outcomes 6. Treasury Management  Enhance TMS, including analysis and Systems support of front office activities.
