Willie and Babe is an electric blues duo combining the powerful forces of Jon Catler, the world's leading Harmonic guitarist, and Babe Borden, known for her versatile 3 octave range, to conjure up a fresh, dynamic and vibrant sound. The forces of Nature and the legend and lure of the Train are forged into an entertaining and uplifting live experience that draws from a deep well of tradition as it heads towards the future. Willie and Babe, who also front the blues band Willie McBlind, have distilled their years of intense musical experience and passion into a fresh and finely honed experience. Willie McBlind’s third CD, Live Long Day, was officially released on National Train Day, May 12, 2012. The critics agreed that the first two records were “stunning” (Downbeat) and “represent a major step forward in the evolution of American blues.” (All About ). Live Long Day is also getting great and terrific reviews, both in the US and abroad. All the songs on this new CD pay tribute to the train in a journey that starts with “Sittin’ in the Train Station” and culminates in the mysterious Train Cloud that ushers out the CD on “The Train That Never Came”.

With performances spanning from King Biscuit Blues Festival on the Mississippi River to the Bourbon Street Blues Festival in New Jersey and Worldwide Plaza Summer Concert Series in the heart of Manhattan, Willie and Babe deliver a riveting, energy-infused show. They have shared the bill with prominent blues artists like Rick Derringer, Pat Travers Band, and Commander Cody. Willie McBlind has played at top venues including Bowery Electric and Shrine Harlem in City, to popular New England juke joints like Inn on the Blues in Maine to Smoken’ Joe’s Blues and BBQ in Boston, and Greenwich Village’s legendary Cornelia Street Café. Willie and Babe are making tracks, bringing this mojo infused musical experience far and wide to blues festivals and clubs, depots and museums, and other venues.

BLUES BYTES – Graham Clarke “Live Long Day pays tribute to the train by sending the listener on a blues-fueled journey that is at times exhilarating, at times somber, at times powerful, at times haunting, and at all times interesting. The band’s roots are firmly planted in the Mississippi Delta, but they combine that with a harmonic blues sound using microtonally fretted and fretless , capping it off with a powerful and effective vocal style.” (CONTINUED ON BACK………..)
