Feast of the Most Holy Eucharist

At every celebration of the Eucharist (Divine Liturgy), Jesus pours out his mercy upon us, as He did on the cross, in order to renew our hearts, our lives and our entire world. In the words of the Second Vatican Council, “as often as the sacrifice of the cross is celebrated on the altar, the work of our redemption is carried out.” Each Sunday, we enter into Christ's victory over sin and death and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are given a share in His very life. By making present the Lord's paschal mystery, the Eucharist strengthens us to bear witness, like the of old, to His triumph over death and to love others as He does, freely giving of ourselves for their good. (Pope Francis - November 22, 2017) Nativity of John the Baptist - June 24

On this day the church celebrates the birth of John the Baptist. He is the last and greatest of the prophets who prepared the way for the ministry of the Messiah. John is a bridge be- tween the old and new covenants. With the birth of John, God’s new activity among man- kind happens in accordance with the words of the prophets, the promises made to the patri- archs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the covenant made with Israel at Sinai. The divine plan reaches its highpoint in the arrival of the Messiah’s messenger.

Prayer to Our Mother of Perpetual Help

O Mother of Perpetual Help, we come before your holy Icon seeking to follow Your Son. Mary, please gently guide us to enter more deeply into the mystery of Redemption. Help us as we contemplate the Incarnation, Passion, Death & Resurrection of Your Son, Jesus, Our Redeemer. Help us to receive and accept the Light of Christ present in your arms. Mary, we present our needs to you and ask that you place them in the hands of your Son. Most Holy Mother of God, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, save us. Amen.
