Key Job Purpose: The role of the NYDA is to create and develop engaging graphics for a variety of media. He/she will be responsible for receiving a brief, define requirements, visualize and create all required elements including illustrations, logos, layouts, photos, etc. The NYDA Graphics Designer will further have to shape the visual aspects of website, app, annual report, newsletters, supplements, adverts and more. The NYDA Graphics Designer should be able to capture the attention of those who see NYDA branded communication in all format and across all platforms and ensure that through the use of graphics we communicate the right message. A creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design is critical for this role.

Key Outcomes (what deliverables are required to achieve job purpose): • Design and layout of all required material • Understanding the design requirement of a project • Designing advertisements, annual reports, newsletters, annual report, brochures and other branding and communication materials • Creating designs using computer software to achieve similar ends. • Pitching an idea of how to actualize project brief. • Revising a design or project deliverable to meet specifications. • Learning how to use a new software or program. • Working as part of the Comms team to create design work of a project. • Finding other required material for a project e.g. images, etc. • Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic. • Work with Manager: Comms and Marketing to produce final design. • Test graphics across various media • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand in line with NYDA CI Manual, partner requirements, stakeholders request etc. • Updating NYDA website, Mobile App and all other communications material • Creating back up files

Key Roles (what role does one have to play to deliver the outcomes): • Conceptualizing creative ideas with internal and external clients. • Preparing and improving the design of the all communications material and that of the organisation • Working within design guidelines, standards, and best practices. • Maintaining the appearance of all communications material and platforms • Designing visual all communications material and platforms and ensuring that they are in line with NYDA branding. • Working with different content management systems. • Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps and wireframes. • Incorporating functionalities and features into various NYDA platforms • Designing sample pages including colours and fonts. • To play a leading role in design discussions with internal staff and external consultants as appropriate to help shape and implement design ideas. • To attend periodic Team meetings and present progress reports for the benefit of all Team members. • To support process improvement, ongoing review and service enhancement, as agreed Line Manager
