MEET 11 CONCORDIA vs. ITASCA COMM. COLL. – JAN. 30, 2007 – MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM MEET #11 Cobber Last Meet Recap Itasca Community College (0­0) JAMESTOWN, N.D. ­­ Concordia capped off its open tournament schedule in at the 2006­07 season by placing five wrestlers in the top five of their individual Concordia College (6­4) weight classes at the Jamestown Open on Saturday. The Cobbers brought 18 January 30, 2007 wrestlers to the competition and had 12 record at least two victories in the Memorial Auditorium meet. Six of those 12 finished in the top six in their weight class and four CC Moorhead, MN wrestlers recorded four wins on their way to top five finishes. All told, 7:30 p.m. Concordia athletes posted 34 wins on the day.

2006­07 COBBER WRESTLING SCHEDULE The top Concordia finisher at the meet was Tony Neumann who went 3­1 in Date Meet/Opponent Time the 184­lb weight class and finished in second place. He opened the meet by Nov. 11 at Bison Open pinning his first opponent in the third period and then went on to claim an 8­2 Nov. 18 COBBER OPEN decision in the semifinals before falling to No.1­ranked Aaron Young of Itasca Dec. 2 at Dragon Open CC in the championship bout. Neumann was joined by teammate Theo Gagner Dec. 7 MSU MOORHEAD L 3­30 in the top five at 184. Gagner took a different route to finishing third in the Dec. 9 at SCSU Husky Open weight class. After losing his first match of the day, He went on to rattle off Dec. 29 Citrus Open (Florida) three straight victories and claim third. Dec. 30 Citrus Open Duals (FL) 2­1 Jan. 12 at St. Olaf W 41­9 A trio of Cobbers came away with fourth­place honors. Joe Leacox continued Jan. 20 at Terry Haws Duals 3­1 his recent trend of success at 133. He went 4­2 in Jamestown to run his team­ Jan. 23 ST. JOHN'S (WADENA) L 9­30 leading win total to 23 on the season. He has won 10 of his last 12 matches. Jan. 27 at Jamestown Open Leacox also posted one of the top wins for CC in the meet. He came up with a Jan. 30 ITASCA CC 7:30 p.m. tough 10­6 decision over Jake Mellmer who is one of the top prospects for the Feb. 2 at Southwest MN State 7 p.m. University of . Joining Leacox with identical 4­2 records on the day Feb. 6 at Northern State 7 p.m. were Zach Schumack and Logan Lunde. Schumack finished fourth at 149, Feb. 8 JAMESTOWN 7:30 p.m. while Lunde claimed fourth at 157. Feb. 17 at NCAA Great Lakes Reg. TBA Elmhurst, Ill. Matt Nyvold rounded out the top five finishers for CC by placing fifth at 125. Mar. 2­3 at NCAA Tournament TBA Dubuque, Jowa Brandon Bartyzal finished sixth at 149 and had a perfect 2­0 record but had to retire after his second match due to a temporary injury. Bartyzal is now 22­15 Cobber Meetday Profile–P.J. Mack on the season.
