BUSTED A SPURIOUS COTTON SEED RACKET AND NABBED THREE ACCUSED PERSONS OF THE GANG.

SEIZED 19 BAGS, TOTAL WEG 665 KGS & ONE CAR FROM THEIR POSSESSION, WORHT ABOUT 10,22,105/-

Today on credible information the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team, in joint operation with Agriculture Department officials intercepted one Car Reg No.TS19C-1078 (Maruthi Swift) near Rani Avathi Bahi Statue, in the limits of Shahinayathgunj PS and found huge quantity of un- authorized HERBICIDE TOLERANT COTTONS SEED, illegally procured, transporting & selling to customers/farmers. Apprehended three accused persons namely 1)Jogannagari Narvotham Reddy, 2)Vangala Srinivas, 3)Uppula Venumadhav, wherein the accused persons were illegally procured, unauthorized herbicide tolerant cotton seeds from Gujarat State through road transport Service without any valid invoice or delivery challan in order to sale under the guise of genuine seeds to needy and known customers/farmers clandestinely in and around State to gain illegal easy profits.

➢ DETAILS OF ACCUSED PERSON: 1. Jogannagari Narvotham Reddy S/o. J.Narayana Reddy, age. 48 yrs, occ. Seeds sales business R/o. Athmakur (village), Nagireddypally (mandal), Kamareddy (Dist), Telangana State (Un authorized cotton seeds sales agent)

2. Vangala Srinivas S/o. V.Gurvaiah, age. 43 yrs, occ. Seeds & pesticides business (Annapurna Traders) R/o. Bhagavantham Wada, Manchiryala Town, Telangana State (Associate & Seeds sales agent)

3. Uppula Venumadhav S/o.U.Ravinder, age. 36 yrs, Occ. Business R/o. Balaji Nagar, Kagajnagar, Komarambim (Dist), Telangana State, (Associate & Seeds sales agent)

➢ SEIZED COTTON SEED: Worth Rs.10,22,105/-

1. Total 19 bags of loose cotton seed, Total Weg 665 KGs,

2. Car Reg no. TS19C1078 (Maruthi Swift) ( used for transporting seed)

➢ BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE: The accused Jogannagari Narvotham Reddy is native of Athmakur village, Kamareddy Dist. He maintained fertilizers& seeds sale business at area.

The accused Vangala Srinivas is native of Bhagavantham Wada, Manchiryala Town, Telangana State. He is running Seeds & pesticides business on the name of Annapurna Traders at Dandepally village.

The accused Uppula Venumadhav is native Dist and presently residing at Kagajnagar,Komarambim (Dist), Telangana State. He is doing as seeds marketing agent for his livelihood.

The accused Jogannagari Narvotham Reddy has been running seeds business , he did not get profits. He hatched a plane to gain huge profits by selling un authorised cotton seed he having contacts with un authorized cotton seed supplying main distributors namely 1)Paresh Bhai Praveen Bhai Patel , Occ. MD of Riddhi Seeds C/o. Gujarath 2)Bharath Patel, Occ. Cotton Seeds supplier R/o. Kavadiguda, Hyderabad N/o. Gujarath State and used to purchase spurious cotton seed from Gujarat and selling to his associates/ agents namely Vangala Srinivas R/o. Bhagavantham Wada, Manchiryala Town & Uppula Venumadhav R/o. Balaji Nagar, Kagajnagar, Komarambim (Dist), and other needy customers. The accused persons used to purchase huge quantity of unauthorized cotton seeds for Rs.800/- Per KG and transporting through Road transports from Ahmadabad to Om Transports, Shahinayathgunj and selling to known and needy customers for Rs.1500/- per KG and depending on customer demand in and around Hyderabad, Kamareddy, , Dist of Talangana State by cheating that farmers and customers as the Seeds are genuine and to gain illegal easy profits.

The accused persons Narvotham Reddy along with his associates have purchased huge quantity of un authorised Cotton seeds about 19 bags Total Weg 665 KGs from Gujarat and transported to Om Transport, Jummerat Bazar, Hyderabad.

Today the accused Narvotham Reddy along with his associated after collected spurious cotton seed from Om transports and transporting in a Car Reg no. TS19C1078 in order to delivery to customers.

➢ ARREST: Today on credible information the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone team,Hyderabad in joint operation with Agriculture Department officials intercepted the Car Reg no.TS19C1078 near Rani Avanthi Bhai Statue, in the limits of Shahinayathgunj PS and apprehend (3) accused persons who are illegally procured, transporting of un-authorized HERBICIDE TOLERANT cottons seeds in order to selling under the guise of genuine seeds to gullible farmers and customers in and around Telangana to gain illegal easy profits.

Seized (19) bags of un authorized Cotton Seed, Total Weg about 665 KGs, Market Value Rs. 10,22,105/- & One car Reg no. TS19C1078 (Maruthi Swift) from their possession.

There is no approval of GEAC (Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee) for sale and sowing of Herbicide Tolerant cotton seeds throughout the which is in violation of Environment Protection Act 1986, as per the instructions issued by Govt of India vide Ref.No.12018/14/2014-CSIII, dated: 30-10-2014. The packing and labelling also not as per the specifications i.e without having MRP rate, Manufacture Date & Expiry date on the seed bags.

The apprehended accused person along with seized material were handed over to SHO, Shahinayathgunj PS for further investigation.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Sri. P.Radhakishan Rao, Dy.Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad by Sri K.Nageswar Rao, Inspector of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone, in joint operation with Agriculture Department official Sri. V.Shravan Kumar, Agriculture officer, Hyderabad, R.R.Dist & SIs Sri.G.Rajashekar Reddy, K.Srikanth and North Zone Task Force team, Hyderabad.
