Poem of Faiz Ahmed Faiz “Loneliness” Translated by Mahmood Jamal: a Stylistics Study
GSJ: Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2021 ISSN 2320-9186 3558 GSJ: Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2021, Online: ISSN 2320-9186 www.globalscientificjournal.com Poem of Faiz Ahmed Faiz “Loneliness” translated by Mahmood Jamal: A Stylistics Study *Muhammad Haroon Jakhrani (M.phil English at Institute of Southern Punjab Multan, Pakistan) Email: [email protected] Ph: +923450147151 Abstract: The purpose of this study is to provide Faiz Ahmed Faiz's stylistic study on loneliness, which was translated by Mahmood Jamal. The current research will disclose the poem's primary topics and notions. As a result, the researcher's attention would be on graph logical, lexical, semantics, and figures of speech in order to attain this purpose. Key words: translation, stylistics, style, lexical, graphology, semantics, figures of speech Introduction: Faiz Ahmed Faiz is unquestionably one of the brightest Urdu poets of modern century. Matter of fact, he had a singular voice that shook a nation's soul and uplifted the spirit of poetry in his period. There are poets with more literary merit who are not well-known, and there are poets who are well-known but lack literary merit. Faiz Ahmed Faiz was one of those rare intellectuals who was both well-known and well-received by the critics. This occurs infrequently, but it does occur in elite writers at various periods. Faiz Ahmed Faiz rose to prominence as a poet in the 1950s, and for a generation of Pakistanis, he became such a beacon of romance and revolutionary. His lyrics soaked into an entire culture and expresses the desires and ambitions of thousands by vocalists like Mehdi Hassan, Iqbal Bano, and Noor Jahan, not to mention Nayyara Noor. -

Parvez Rana, Hassan Askari, Z.A. Zulfi, Pappu Samrat, Syed Noor, Babar Butt, and literally everyone else I met in the film industry were welcoming and hospitable beyond what I ever could have hoped or imagined. The cast and crew of Sharabi, in particular, went above and beyond to facilitate my research and make sure I was at all times comfortable and safe and had answers to whatever stupid questions I was asking that day! Along with their kindness, I was privileged to witness their industry, creativity, and perseverance, and I will be eternally inspired by and grateful to them. My committee might seem large at seven members, but all of them have been incredibly helpful and supportive throughout my time in graduate school, and each of them have helped develop different dimensions of this work. -

The four names of great men from Sindh that he gave, included three former students of Sindh Madressah. Today, in 21st century, it gives pleasure that Sindh Madressah has kept alive that tradition of producing great men to serve the humanity. -

Abstract In 2009, the Pakistani Supreme Court began granting rights to gender ambiguous people who are locally known as khwaja siras. The Court organized this population into taxonomic groups and ordered the government to ‘mainstream’ them. These actions were based on certain cultural assumptions and occurred amid uncertainties about who khwaja siras really were. Meanwhile, khwaja siras began to mobilize in an effort to control their public image. Based on fourteen months of ethnographic fieldwork on the identity politics of khwaja siras in Karachi, this dissertation seeks to understand the ways in which gender ambiguous people constructed, negotiated and represented themselves both within their social networks and in the wider society, as well as the factors underpinning their public portrayals. I conceive khwaja sira politics as a ‘game’, that is, as the art of manipulation and concealment. I argue that the games of secrecy and deception in which this minority population engaged were responses to the stigma they experienced in everyday life. -
Rang Sazi: Introduction and Evolution of Color Film Technology in Pakistan Zuraiz Ur Rehman Niazi
Rang Sazi: Introduction and Evolution of Color Film Technology in Pakistan Zuraiz ur Rehman Niazi Abstract This paper discusses the introduction and evolution of color film technology in Pakistani cinema. It focuses on the transitional period from the 1960s to the 1980s and highlights the major technological and practical changes in the production of films in Pakistan, contextualizing the semiotics and importance of color for this film industry. While discussing this transition from black and white to color film in Pakistan, it also connects this shift with the evolution and introduction of color film technology on a global level, including earlier technologies of color and colorization. The research is supported by a short analysis of some early Pakistani color films. Field research at Evernew Studios, one of Pakistan's oldest film studios, also sheds some light on how the industry transitioned to color film and how technology and filmmaking was affected. Keywords: Color Film Technology, Development of Pakistani Film, Pakistani Film Studios, Film Technology and Infrastructure Introduction Color films have evolved greatly since they were first introduced in Pakistan in the 1960s. Unfortunately, there is little literature available that can address the questions of the technology and techniques that were used to make color films in the country at that time. Azra (dir. Munshi Dil, 1962) is known to be the first Pakistani color film. However, color was not new to the subcontinent. Azra came out twenty-five years after the first Hindi color film Kisan Kanya (dir. Moti B. Gidwani, 1937). Early color films in the subcontinent were either hand painted or used color film stock, like those is western countries. -
