Sound Glenn Freemantle ACCEPTANCE: SOUND GLENN FREEMANTLE: Wow. Thank you very much BAFTA from all of us and thank you to Alfonso Cuarón for making such a wonderful film that gave us all such a huge opportunity. You know, we met first of all, when he said there is no sound in space, well there you go, we are all right. Obviously it wasn't only us, the support of David Heyman and Warner Brothers is huge. You can imagine, they gave us everything to be able to do this film which we are truly grateful and supported us all the way. Warner Brothers here, Delaney, Pinewood, Burbank, we travelled around on this film. It was not only us on this stage that were part of us as well. We have other people to thank, I would like to thank some of my crew. Nina Hartstone, Ben Barker, Eilam Hoffmann, Danny Freemantle, Hugo Adams, Emilie O'Connor, Nick Freemantle and Nicolas Becker. I am sure there are more that you will come up with. I would like to say thank you very much and I will leave you somebody else to talk, thank you. CHRISTOPHER BENSTEAD: Thank you BAFTA. I had a good feeling about this mission and I have to say Glenn said it all, but I would just like to thank my great production sound crew, Steve Finn, Will Towers and Jim McBride, thank you all. SKIP LIEVSAY: I would like to say thank you very much to Alfonso Cuarón and to our wives and families who could not be with us tonight. Some of them are here today. NIV ADIRI: Thank you to Alfonso for taking us on this journey to space and back. All the crew, at Sound 24 all the mix techs in Delaney, Pinewood and Burbank for helping us. On a personal note I would like to thank my wife, I love you baby, you are amazing, my angel, and my two little boys and my parents, of course. CHRIS MUNRO: I would like to say thanks to Stephen Price who wrote a great score to this film. I think unlike any other film I have worked on it was an amazing synergy between sound and music, which we all worked together to create. Thanks to Stephen and again Alfonso, thank you. .

WMC INVESTIGATION: 10-YEAR ANALYSIS OF GENDER & OSCAR NOMINATIONS womensmediacenter.com @womensmediacntr WOMEN’S MEDIA CENTER ABOUT THE WOMEN’S MEDIA CENTER In 2005, Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem founded the Women’s Media Center (WMC), a progressive, nonpartisan, nonproft organization endeav- oring to raise the visibility, viability, and decision-making power of women and girls in media and thereby ensuring that their stories get told and their voices are heard. To reach those necessary goals, we strategically use an array of interconnected channels and platforms to transform not only the media landscape but also a cul- ture in which women’s and girls’ voices, stories, experiences, and images are nei- ther suffciently amplifed nor placed on par with the voices, stories, experiences, and images of men and boys. Our strategic tools include monitoring the media; commissioning and conducting research; and undertaking other special initiatives to spotlight gender and racial bias in news coverage, entertainment flm and television, social media, and other key sectors. Our publications include the book “Unspinning the Spin: The Women’s Media Center Guide to Fair and Accurate Language”; “The Women’s Media Center’s Media Guide to Gender Neutral Coverage of Women Candidates + Politicians”; “The Women’s Media Center Media Guide to Covering Reproductive Issues”; “WMC Media Watch: The Gender Gap in Coverage of Reproductive Issues”; “Writing Rape: How U.S. Media Cover Campus Rape and Sexual Assault”; “WMC Investigation: 10-Year Review of Gender & Emmy Nominations”; and the Women’s Media Center’s annual WMC Status of Women in the U.S.
