Consultation with the community and Statutory Consultees on the Draft Fiskerton cum Morton Neighbourhood Plan began on January 20th, 2019 to March 3rd, 2019. The drop-in consultation events have been held at the Arthur Radford Sport Ground Centre on the 27th January 2019 between 10:00 am and 4:00pm and the Morton Village Hall on the 18th February 6:45pm- 7:30pm. 1.2. The Fiskerton cum Morton Neighbourhood Plan, Neighbourhood Profile Report, Local Green Space Assessment and, Views and Vista Assessment were available online and in hard copies. The Consultation exercise included an online and hard copy questionnaire (available in Consultation Statement: Appendix 1), these were distributed at the Drop-in event and also additional copies of the questionnaire were left in the two villages during the Regulation 14 consultation. Questions were asked to express Support or Objection to each section of the Neighbourhood Plan and supplementary documents, and in particular to the Vision, Objectives, Policies, Community Aspirations, Neighbourhood Profile Report, Local Green Space Assessment and, Views and Vista Assessment. 1.3. All consultees were given the opportunity to leave a comment to each section of the Neighbourhood Plan and to each supplementary document.

There is funding and advice for undertaking a Neighbourhood Plan, such as highlighted in the presentation given by Jenny Kirkwood of Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire (RCAN) on 5th June. It is my view that the funding available will cover the total costs of the Plan given the size of our community, but we need to apply for it and who knows how long the funding will be available? Navigation on the Newark Branches of the Trent Upstream of Newark the River Trent splits into two branches. The current navigation, managed by Canal & River Trust goes directly through Newark, while an separate branch of the river heads north past Kelham. There is a strong history of navigation on both of these branches of the Trent, predating the age of navigation-related Acts of Parliament. The evidence below strongly supports the existence of a long-standing common law Public Right of Navigation (PRN) on both arms of the river th 1 leading back to the 12 century. Dug-out canoes from pre-Roman Britain have been found upstream of Nottingham and along the river. Such records do not record which specific branch of the river is used (Note C). 1100s First record of navigation rights being specifically recognised on the Kelham branch (Note B). First specific evidence found of navigation on the Kelham branch - note that this is before the first evidence for the Newark branch (see 1347).
