It was adopted by the ELCA at its 2001 Churchwide Assembly. It was updated at the AAPI-ELCA Assembly in 2016. 1. Congregational Development To increase Asian congregations, ministries, and synodical Authorized worshiping community from 100 in 2015 to 120 by 2020, an increase of 20 in four years. 2. Membership To increase Asian and Pacific Islander membership from 22,000 to 23,000, or 4 percent, in five years (about 1 percent every year). 3. Leadership Development To have a sufficient number of lay and ordained male, female, and youth ministry leaders for the ministry in the Asian community. 4. Resource Development To have sufficient resources in Asian languages that will help nurture Christian believers. The goal is to have at least one Asian ministry resource produced in different languages every year. 5.
