A meeting of the board of Directors (“Board”) of USA Water Polo, Inc. (“USAWP”) was held on September 7th, 2019 at 7:30am PDT with participants joining over the phone and in Irvine, CA at the USA Water Polo corporate office and on a conference call. Board of Directors and staff in attendance:

Chairman Mike Graff welcomed the meeting attendees, set the agenda for the day and thanked the staff for their continued strong stewardship and performance.

Special Guest, Susanne Lyons, USOPC Board Chair Mike Graff welcomed our special guest Susanne Lyons, USOPC Board Chair. Susanne shared an update on the major initiatives the USOPC is working through as well as highlights from the terrific performance in the . The 2019 Olympic and Paralympic games was one of the best US performances since 1999 in PanAms and the Paralympics placed 2nd in medal count just behind Brazil. During the games there were a few podium protests and the USOPC has had to clarify the policy and associated consequences.

The USOPC is preparing for the last year of the quad cycle with lots of lots of excitement for Tokyo and preparations for LA 2028. There is a significant amount of work underway on Athlete Safety and wellbeing, operationalizing changes in bylaws, operations, policy and procedures as well as the Athlete Safety Act. Center for SafeSport currently scaling and lots of work to continue to define mandate and reach. USOPC working to build a Super NGB, to help support smaller NGBs with centralized services and ensure continuity for any risk of de-certification.

Update from Chris Ramsey, CEO Chris gave an overview of the performance of our National teams, starting with a celebration of the US Women’s National teams coming off 59 straight wins and both the Women and Men have confirmed their Olympic berths. Thanked the staff for their hard work to date and shared excitement and energy as we head into Tokyo 2020. The team also paused to reflect and mourn the loss of Justin Dignam and his contributions to the water polo community. Continue to advance efforts to formalize a National Training Center for USAWP Athletes and the local community.

Financials - Mr. Scott Aubin USAWP slightly behind budget for 2019 but well within contingency. Team working to shore up any shortfalls, and also making some infrastructure decisions over the next few months.

Advancement - Mrs. Stephanie Krogius Update on Advancement and celebration of the team’s success growing the donor base and discussion of the upcoming events.

High Performance - Mr. John Abdou John provided an overview of the high performance teams priorities and highlights from development teams success and growth of the NCAA programs

Women’s National Team Coach - Mr. Adam Krikorian Women’s National Team continues to excel with the team on a 59 game winning streak. The team kicked off training September 5th and is investing significantly in mental and physical preparation given the long road ahead to Tokyo 2020. The 17 Athletes will all be dedicating the year to train with 6 of the collegiate Athletes opting to take a gap year to invest in training. None of the Athletes will be training abroad. We also took a moment to reflect on the tragedy and the path to recovery for .

Men’s National Team Coach - Mr. Dejan Udovicic The Men’s National Team continues to progress and clinched their Olympic berth with a key win in Pan American Games. One third of the Pan American team will be training abroad. Both Adam and Dejan remarked at the camaraderie building between each of the National teams.

Events - Mr. Ryan Cunnane Ryan shared that Junior Olympics set a new record with participation of 971 teams registering for the event and 867 participating. The feedback is still being processed but initial reviews were quite positive on operations, officiating and overall experience. Goal is to continue to improve and grow diversity participation.

Strategic Business Council The Board provided feedback on the initial draft of the Strategic Business Council which we plan to take out to Athletes and potential Sponsors in Q4.
