About the host
TU Wien (TUW) is located in the heart of Europe, in a cosmopolitan city of great cultural diversity. For more than 200 years, TU Wien has been a place of research, teaching and learning in the service of progress. TU Wien is among the most successful technical universities in Europe and is Austria’s largest scientific-technical research and educational institution.
TU Wien’s mission is "technology for people". Through its research the university "develops scientific excellence", through teaching it "enhances comprehensive competence".
TU Wien has eight faculties lead by deans: Architecture and Planning, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mathematics and Geoinformation, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Physics.
The University is led by the Rector and four Vice Rectors, responsible for Research and Innovation, Academic Affairs, Infrastructure as well as Human Resources and Gender. The University Council, consisting of seven members, acts as a supervisory board.
