It is a pleasure to host you in Istanbul and Ankara for what promises to be an unforgettable 10 days of basketball. The 16 best teams in the world are here with us, and I have no doubt that they will inspire basketball lovers in Turkey and around the world. For the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF), which is currently celebrating the 55th anniversary of its founding, this is a poignant opportunity to reflect on the history of our game and our vision for the future. With this world championship Turkey has become the first country to host FIBA World and continental championships in both men’s and women’s basketball in the last 15 years. This year, for the first time ever, our men’s and women’s national teams will have competed in FIBA’s flagship tournaments. Earlier this summer our U18 and U20 Men’s National Teams were crowned European Champions. At TBF our goal is increasing the impact of basketball, and that means making a difference in the community. This year we inaugurated our new social responsibility project, PASS IT ON, the centrepiece of which was Camp PASS IT ON. From August 11–18 we welcomed more than 200 kids and 100 coaches from 87 different countries to Istanbul for one week of basketball learning and cultural exchange. This was just the first of many new initiatives that reflect TBF’s commitment to changing lives through basketball. The 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women represents another important opportunity to make a difference. Boys and girls around the world will be watching these remarkable athletes, and I can think of no better setting for the excitement to come than Turkey. Warm regards, Turgay Demirel President Turkish Basketball Federation 1 Welcome Turkey’s Senior Women’s National Team A Decade to Remember Dear Basketball Fan, It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women in Istanbul and Ankara. • Difference-Based Analysis of the Impact of Observed Game Parameters on the Final Score at the FIBA Eurobasket Women 2019
Original Article Difference-based analysis of the impact of observed game parameters on the final score at the FIBA Eurobasket Women 2019 SLOBODAN SIMOVIĆ1 , JASMIN KOMIĆ2, BOJAN GUZINA1, ZORAN PAJIĆ3, TAMARA KARALIĆ1, GORAN PAŠIĆ1 1Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2Faculty of Economy, University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina 3Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, University of Belgrade, Serbia ABSTRACT Evaluation in women's basketball is keeping up with developments in evaluation in men’s basketball, and although the number of studies in women's basketball has seen a positive trend in the past decade, it is still at a low level. This paper observed 38 games and sixteen variables of standard efficiency during the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2019. Two regression models were obtained, a set of relative percentage and relative rating variables, which are used in the NBA league, where the dependent variable was the number of points scored. The obtained results show that in the first model, the difference between winning and losing teams was made by three variables: true shooting percentage, turnover percentage of inefficiency and efficiency percentage of defensive rebounds, which explain 97.3%, while for the second model, the distinguishing variables was offensive efficiency, explaining for 96.1% of the observed phenomenon. There is a continuity of the obtained results with the previous championship, played in 2017. Of all the technical elements of basketball, it is still the shots made, assists and defensive rebounds that have the most significant impact on the final score in European women’s basketball.

In Turkey, the scientific researches and the scanning methods of resources have been used in this field. As a result, more resources should be searched to reveal the historical development of sports and basketball and to make some determinations. The compilation may also be useful in the lightening, the detection of information that is lacking in this area. Keywords: sport history; Turkish sports history; Turkish basketball history Introduction The thought that the human body is trained for certain purposes is as old as the existence of mankind on earth. In geological periods, each of which lasts for millions of years, humankind has struggled to survive with a strong natural and animal realm. Especially men have had to struggle with their own forces and use their bodies for jobs such as war and hunting. Even the weapons and tools they used for these jobs were based on the use of human power.
