The Norway Cup is an international youth football tournament which has been held annually since 1972 (except 1976) in Oslo, Norway. It is the world's largest football tournament and sees a typical 1400 to 1700 participating teams per year - in 2016 Norway Cup hit an all-time record with 2199 teams, of which 450 teams played the new 3v3 tournament for 6-10 year olds. Participants come from 50 to 60 countries

Several players have participated in the Norway Cup and have subsequently made football their profession, including , , Ole Gunnar Solskjær and .

Tournament Venue

Most of the matches are played at Ekebergsletta, which is a large area to the north of the City, but as the tournament has grown they have expanded to other parts of Oslo.

Now around 5000 matches are played at different locations with a total of 89 pitches.

Accommodation

During Norway Cup you have two choices of accommodation – hotel or school. See below what’s included in both packages.

A-card – school card Staying at a school is social and the atmosphere is usually really good at the different schools during the tournament. A team leader (min. 20 years old) must live at the school with the team at all times. At the schools, there will be guards at all times, and there are good public transport links nearby.

You also have the possibility to buy a mattress or sleeping bag if you are staying at a school, which will be yours to keep after the tournament.

The A card includes everything that the H-Card does except you have eight-night accommodation in schools (Saturday- Sunday) and the breakfasts are served every day at the schools.

Getting There There are three airports that serve Oslo. Gardermoen Airport, Sandefjord Airport, Torp and Moss Airport. Gardermoen is closest to the city centre (22 miles away) and this is the only airport that accepts international flights.
