HGTV CELEBRATES FATHER’S DAY WITH ‘DAD-A-THON’ SPOTLIGHTING DAD-LED SERIES

New York [June 1, 2020] HGTV will give dads the best excuse to relax this Father’s Day—an all- day, binge-worthy marathon featuring the network’s superstar dads as they knock down walls, rip out old cabinets and pull up rotted floors to create dream homes for families. On Sunday, June 21, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT, HGTV’s Dad-A-Thon offers an ideal family-friendly lineup, spotlighting specially selected episodes of popular series Holmes and Holmes, Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa, Fixer to Fabulous and Home Town, followed by premiere episodes of Home Town: Watch Party with Ben and Erin at 7 p.m. ET/PT, Renovation Island at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Boise Boys: Outgrown at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

“Dads give selflessly all year to take care of their families and complete many of the projects in their own homes, so our Father’s Day Dad-A-Thon is a chance for them to finally take a break,” said Jane Latman, president, HGTV. “To celebrate their hard work, commitment and support, HGTV is gifting them with a day to simply sit down with the people they love and enjoy some entertaining and inspirational programming.”

HGTV’s Dad-A-Thon kicks off at 7 a.m. with back-to-back episodes of Holmes and Holmes, starring professional contractor Mike Holmes and his son, home renovation expert Mike Jr., as they rescue homeowners from shoddy renovations and do-it-yourself projects gone wrong. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., real-estate powerhouse and father of two, Tarek El Moussa, mentors first-time flippers in Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa, helping them navigate costly mistakes as they race to get a renovated property on the market.

Later in the day, from 1 to 4 p.m., Bentonville, Arkansas, dad Dave Marrs and his wife Jenny bring worn-out houses back to life in the popular series, Fixer to Fabulous, all while raising five young children and managing their family farm. And, from 4 to 7 p.m., fans can catch up on episodes of Home Town starring Ben and Erin Napier as they transform rundown houses in Laurel, Mississippi.

Beginning at 7 p.m., Ben and Erin host an intimate episode of Home Town: Watch Party with Ben and Erin from the comfort of their couch, sharing behind-the-scenes commentary from a Home Town episode in which they helped a family moving back to Mississippi find a spacious home to entertain family and friends. This was the last episode they filmed before their daughter Helen was born, so the couple reminisces about the final days leading up to her arrival and reveal a beautiful mahogany picnic table Ben built specially for her.

Starting at 8 p.m., HGTV fans can escape to the tropics with a new episode of Renovation Island, which follows and his wife Sarah, along with their four kids, as they set off on an epic adventure to restore a massive, rundown beachfront resort in The Bahamas. In the episode, the Baeumlers face the harsh realities of building on an island—from unpredictable weather to massive delivery delays—and ultimately must make a difficult decision about the resort’s opening date. And, at 9 p.m., home renovation experts Clint Robertson, father of three, and Luke Caldwell, father of seven, star in a new episode of Boise Boys: Outgrown. The best friends and business partners revisit one of the most challenging and rewarding properties they’ve ever renovated in Boise, Idaho.
