The specific objectives of the study are; To measure the financial inclusion in terms of savings accounts in Elavally Gramapanchayath. To measure the level of financial inclusion in terms of postal savings. To identify the deposit scheme which is mostly preferred by the customers of post office To measure the level of financial literacy in the panchayath. Methodology This study chooses descriptive nature. The study is mainly based on primary data collected from 100 households in Elavally Grama panchayath through questionnaires. The households have been selected by employing convenient sampling. Economic reviews of the government of India, Kerala economic reviews published by Kerala Government, census data, reports of RBI, previous studies and report of Elavally Grama panchayath are the secondary sources of data. The important variables used in the study are types of deposits and insurance services. Simple mathematical tools and statistical tools like percentages and averages are used for data analysis. Profile of Elavally Panchayath Elavally Grama panchayath is a special grade Grama panchayath located on the west of Thrissur District in Kerala, consisting of 16 wards and 4517 households. The financial sector largely depends upon Gulf Malayalees. Most of the rural folk are engaged in agriculture and business. Elavally Grama panchayath has a population of 21872 of which 10,262 are males and 11610 are females. It is one among the panchayaths, having high literacy rate.

These films actualize region as a cinematic imaginary through its authenticity markers – caste/ist practices explicitly, which earlier films constructed as a ‘trope’. The paper uses the concept of Heterotopias to analyse the recurrence of spectacle spaces in the construction of Madurai, and the production of caste in contemporary films. In this pursuit, it interrogates the implications of such spatial discourses. Spectacle spaces: Production of caste in recent Tamil films To foreground the study of caste in Tamil films and to link it with the rise of ‘caste- gestapo’ networks that execute honour killings and murders as a reaction to ‘inter-caste love dramas’ in Tamil Nadu,1 let me narrate a political incident that occurred in Tamil Nadu – that of the formation of a socio-political movement against Dalit assertion in December 2012.

    Inauguration of STREE Counselling Centre At Golconda PS, on 01Jul 2021 The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) in association with Hyderabad City Police has inaugurated the STREE counselling centre in Golconda PS area as part of its Women’s forum initiative. The Council has around 200 STREE Volunteers in the Asif Nagar division. The key areas of intervention are educating them on the provisions of law available to protect them, providing support to women in distress, conducting training sessions. A pilot project was initiated in Golconda PS area and later expanded to other PS limits in the division. The council has conducted 25 training sessions involving subject matter experts to deliver lectures on the provisions of legal system for the welfare of women. Sri. Anjani Kumar IPS Commissioner of Police, Chairman HCSC, Hyderabad and Sri.Kousar Mohiuddin MLA Karwan inaugurated the centre and expressed happiness over the initiative in empowering women.     Remembering Partition: Violence, Nationalism and History in India Gyanendra Pandey CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRESS Remembering Partition Violence, Nationalism and History in India Through an investigation of the violence that marked the partition of British India in 1947, this book analyses questions of history and mem- ory, the nationalisation of populations and their pasts, and the ways in which violent events are remembered (or forgotten) in order to en- sure the unity of the collective subject – community or nation. Stressing the continuous entanglement of ‘event’ and ‘interpretation’, the author emphasises both the enormity of the violence of 1947 and its shifting meanings and contours. The book provides a sustained critique of the procedures of history-writing and nationalist myth-making on the ques- tion of violence, and examines how local forms of sociality are consti- tuted and reconstituted by the experience and representation of violent events. It concludes with a comment on the different kinds of political community that may still be imagined even in the wake of Partition and events like it. GYANENDRA PANDEY is Professor of Anthropology and History at Johns Hopkins University. He was a founder member of the Subaltern Studies group and is the author of many publications including The Con- struction of Communalism in Colonial North India (1990) and, as editor, Hindus and Others: the Question of Identity in India Today (1993).
