275. – PART ONE 275. Clifford (1994) Okay, here’s the deal: I don’t know you, you don’t know me, but if you are anywhere near a television right now I need you to stop whatever it is that you’re doing and go watch “Clifford” on HBO Max. This is another film that has a 10% score on Rotten Tomatoes which just leads me to believe that all of the critics who were popular in the nineties didn’t have a single shred of humor in any of their non-existent funny bones. I loved this movie when I was seven, and I love it even more when I’m thirty-three. It’s genius. Martin Short (who at the time was forty-four) plays a ten-year-old hyperactive nightmare child from hell. I mean it, this kid might actually be the devil. He is straight up evil, conniving, manipulative and all-told probably causes no less than ten million dollars-worth of property damage. And, again, the plot is so simple – he just wants to go to Dinosaur World. There are so many comedy films with such complicated plots and motivations for their characters, but the simplistic genius of “Clifford” is just this – all this kid wants on the entire planet is to go to Dinosaur World. That’s it. The movie starts with him and his parents on an plane to Hawaii for a business trip, and Clifford knows that Dinosaur Land is in Los Angeles, therefore he causes so much of a ruckus that the plane has to make an emergency landing. -

This timeline cards set focuses on teaching about the evolution of the LGBTQIA+ Rights (movement) through history up until today, covering some key milestones, leading figures, events, legislation and organizations. The cards can be used in history or civic education, or in other non-formal education settings. Where possible, it is advised that educators supplement the cards with local (history) examples. The cards were created using images and information researched online, with sources noted on the back of the cards. The cards are created for exclusively non-profit educational purpose and use, in classrooms or non-formal educational settings. (September 28, 2009) — Today, more than 70 percent of Americans know someone who has experienced domestic violence and yet few feel comfortable talking about it. In an effort to break the silence, Academy Award-winning actress Mira Sorvino is joining forces with The Allstate Foundation to urge Americans to talk for a change and “Tell a Gal P.A.L.” to help end their domestic violence. “From my volunteer work helping women who have been victimized to my selection of movie roles, I’m committed to raising awareness about this issue,” said Ms. Sorvino, who portrays a battered woman in an upcoming movie drama scheduled for release in 2010. “I joined The Allstate Foundation’s Tell a Gal P.A.L. campaign because I believe it’s imperative that we work together to empower women to speak up and find the help they need to free themselves from abuse.” As part of the Tell a Gal P.A.L. campaign, The Allstate Foundation will also continue its efforts against a lesser known element of domestic violence -- economics abuse, which is when abusers control victims’ finances in an effort to prevent them from leaving. “We are helping survivors who often find themselves with limited means for daily survival, let alone the means to get back into the workforce and attain financial security,” said Jennifer Kuhn, Economics Against Abuse Program Manager, The Allstate Foundation. -

INTRODUCTION In August 2017, Defendant Amazon Content Services, LLC entered into an agreement with Woody Allen’s production company, Gravier Productions, Inc., to acquire certain rights in the next four motion pictures filmed by Allen. Just over a month later, Allen’s son Ronan Farrow published an investigative article in The New Yorker detailing multiple reports of serious sexual misconduct by film producer Harvey Weinstein.1 The article became the catalyst for a broad public reckoning over the persistence of sexual harassment in entertainment and other industries. Despite immediate consensus on the importance of acknowledging and addressing this issue, Allen made a series of public comments suggesting that he failed to grasp the gravity of the issues or the implications for his own career.
