Yes. because the Prophet 15 said: "The part of an IZfHJr (garment) which hangs below the ankles is in the Fire...1 Some hold the opinion that lsbaal is forbidden when It Is done out of pride, conceit or arrogance. Is this argument true? No, because: First: The threat to punish in Hell those who drag their garments 2 below the ankles is clear • Second: Several texts indicate that the Prophet 15 used to command the 'people to pull up their garments. The majority ofthe Muslim Scholars (Al-Jumhoor) agree that when the text is in the imperative form, it is intended for Tahreem (forbidding something), unless there is another authentic evidence that indicates otherwise. In one incident, the Prophet ii sighted someone dragging his lower garment. He:li rushed to him and said: "Pull up your IZfHJr and (ear I Saheeh al-Bukhtri V 7, Hadeeth# 678 2 The punishable part is that which violates the command oCthe Prophet" i.e. below the ankles AI-Haafidh Ibn Hajer is of the opinion that the obvious literal meaning ofthe Hadeeth holds true, Le. the clothes together with the part below the ankles will be in Hell as it is the case in the saying of Allaah !I, "Certainly! Since then the man was not seen except with his Izaar touching the middle of his shins or up to the middle ofhis 4 shins • It is clear that the Prophet ii did not question the man about whether he was doing it out of pride or arrogance. In fact it's clear that from the condition ofthe man that he did not even think about arrogance! Nevertheless the Proph~t :fi did not accept his Isbal1land considered it to be incompatible with at.Taqwa (the fear ofAllaah). Third: The generalized prohibition of Isbal1l is clear in the sayings ofthe Prophet~. On one occasion he said to Sufyaan bin Sahl: "0 Sufyaan bin Sahli Do not lower your garment below your ankles because Allaah does not love the. AI-Haafidh Ibn Hajer, in his commentary about some of the Hadeeth mentioned above, said, "The Isbaalmentioned in these Hadeeth is a grave sin if it is done out of Makheelah, 3 Ahnaf A person afflicted with a distortion ofthe foot with each foot moving ~pwards the other one along the big toe. 4 Reported by Ahmad and it satisfies the conditions and narrations set by AI-Bukhaaree and Muslim See As-Si/silah As-Saheehah. He knew that Isballl necessitates Al-Makheelah even ifthe Musbil does not intend it. Today we see that men are trailing their lzaar (thobe, trousers, pants, etc.) like women, while women wear clothes whose lower ends are w~1I above the ankles! In this there is a great lesson for all Muslims and especially our young generatiollS that they shouJd take this matter seriously' and abide by the commands ofAllaah and His Messenger ~. On the other hand the incident shows that 'Umar, while leading an Ummah (nation), did not see this as a minor issue, as some Muslims respond when they are advised about an Issue like Isbaa/ or that ofthe beard. He considered all m~tters ofDeen in light of the teachings ofthe Qur'aan and Sunnah. Certainly if a person is new to Islaam or if he is ignorant, then we gradually teach him the importance of Tawheed and that the Sunnah is an integral part Tawheed. When these matters are made clear to him, then it is very natural to call him to abide by them. Note: Someone may ask the question: "Ifthe Sunnah for women is to trail their dresses, then what about the impurities that may attach to their dresses?" A women asked Umm Salamah l+;o ~ '~) the following question: 'A am a women hay.ing a long trail ofmy garment and I waik in a filthy 16 Shaykh AI-Albaanee said that the Hadeeth is authentic as in Ash Shamaa'il Al-Muhammadiyyah (Sumarized Version), # 97.

AL-ADWA 41:29 1 The Campaigns of the Prophet The Campaigns of the Prophet and Execution of POWs Atiq ur Rahman* Zia ur Rahman** The Holy Quran neither gives orders relating to the execution of the captives and nor it shows any justification in this regard. The companions of were not in the favour of the execution of prisoners (ﷺ) the Holy Prophet the ,(ﷺ) of Holy Prophet ر( یض ا ہلل عنہ) of war. Out of the companions expositor (Mufasir) of Quran Hazarat Ibn-e-Abbas judged this act as was against the execution of war ر( یض ا ہلل عنہ) illegal(1). Not only Abbas (ﷺ) captives but there is consensus of Sahaba () of the Holy Prophet that the killing of prisoner of war is not legal(2). Most of the mufasireen are also not in favour of execution of the prisoners, these include the names like Hassan, Ata, Ibn-e-Sireen and Mujahid.(3) But on the other hand, during the we find some examples which show that the (ﷺ) era of the Holy Prophet teachings of Islam has kept the option of execution of captives according to the need of circumstances. • Baghdad, 10Th Century the Dress of a Non-Muslim Woman
Baghdad, 10th Century The Dress of a non-Muslim woman The Rise of Islam in Medieval Society and its Influence on Clothing In order to understand and create the clothing of a 10th century woman in an Islamic State, it is incredibly important to understand how the advent of Islam affected day to day dress in Arabic society. It did not in fact create a new style of clothing, but instead it modified the styles of dress that were popular in the 6th and 7th centuries, many of which were influenced by Hellenic and Persian dress. As the progression of Islamic moral sensibilities became more and more impressed upon society, so too did the desire to keep much of the clothing simple, functional and suitable to the environment. Within the Early Islamic era (570-632 C.E) piety and morality were strongly impressed. Adornment was thought to be too ostentatious and fine fabrics and textiles considered inappropriate for a follower of Islam. During this time, one very important and identifiable change to clothing was created. It was considered against Islam if your clothing trailed the ground or if the basic under garments were past the ankle in length. “The Prophet said (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Isbaal (wearing one’s garment below the ankles) may apply to the izaar (lower garment), the shirt or the turban. Whoever allows any part of these to trail on the ground out of arrogance, Allaah will not look at him on the Day of Judgment”. (reported by Abu Dawud, no 4085, and al-Nisaa’I in al-Mujtabaa, Kitab (al-Zeenah,Baab Isbaal al-Izaar) These hadiths are small collections of reports and statements of what The Prophet Muhammad was observed to say were written by his closest echelon of courtiers.

Desai has been totally revised by the staff of The Islamic Bulletin. The book is now concise, informative, and perhaps most important of all, enlightening. The text is more fluid and readily understood, such as the use of numbers, titles and subtitles, and minor textual rearrangements, including helpful weblinks. Finally we have provided the reader with transliteration of the Duuas (supplications) and Quranic verses in Arabic, thereby accommodating those unable to read Arabic text. We can only hope that what we have done will prove to be useful to the reader in his or her study of this book. • Islam Forbids Same Gender Marriages Introduction: There Is Simply No Ordinance in the Holy Qur’An Allowing Same Gender Marriage
Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Raheem Islam Forbids Same Gender Marriages Introduction: There is simply no Ordinance in the Holy Qur’an allowing same gender marriage. Islam, through revealed Ordinances, in the Holy Qur’an, forbids same gender marriage. Further, Islam also forbids any description of immorality between two persons of the same gender. The Ordinances have also been supported by quotations of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in all of the six leading Hadith1. Almighty God has made men and women as paired for procreation and the laws of Almighty God must never be breached for sake of sinful lust between two persons of same gender. Islam is clear in its prohibition of homosexual acts. Islamic scholars cite these reasons for condemning homosexuality, based on teachings of the Holy Qur'an and Hadith: It clashes with the "natural" order in which Almighty God created human beings. Further, it brings destruction to the family and the institutions of marriage. Furthermore, it leads people to ignore Almighty God's guidance in other areas of life. In some countries, a few of their leading politicians are leading the charge to amend their countries’ laws to allow same gender marriages. Marriage between persons of the same gender is becoming so widespread in modern societies that some countries are in the process of amendments to their country’s national Constitution. Islam forbids same gender marriages, regardless of country. Discussion: 1) The Holy Qur’an makes clear to mankind that Almighty God created humanity to continue to procreate in opposite gender pairs, through the process of marriages. Pairing means that both male and female have same type of souls; but only the material human body has gender differences; and this fact became operational with Adam and Eve, then subsequently downstream to wider humanity.
