G.N. 1051 Railways Ordinance (Chapter 519) (Notice under section 23) MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY (‘MTR’) WEST ISLAND LINE NOTICE OF ORDER AUTHORIZING TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SECTIONS OF ROCK HILL STREET, NORTH STREET, SANDS STREET AND POK FU LAM ROAD; PARTS OF A FOOTBRIDGE AT THE SOUTH OF POK FU LAM ROAD; A FOOTPATH NEAR THE BELCHER’S; SECTIONS OF QUEEN’S ROAD WEST, WHITTY STREET, BELCHER’S STREET, COLLINSON STREET, PRAYA, KENNEDY TOWN AND SHING SAI ROAD; PARTS OF THE WESTERN DISTRICT PUBLIC CARGO WORKING AREA; THE OPEN SPACE IN KI LING LANE PLAYGROUND; AND SECTIONS OF KI LING LANE, THE ROAD ADJACENT TO KI LING LANE PLAYGROUND AND WEST; AND TEMPORARY ALTERATION OF SECTIONS OF KI LING LANE AND DES VOEUX ROAD WEST AS VEHICULAR ACCESS Notice is hereby given that under section 22(1) of the Railways Ordinance (Chapter 519), the Deputy Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport) has, by order made on 23 February 2010 (the ‘Order’), authorized— (I) the temporary partial closure of sections of Rock Hill Street, sections of North Street between Belcher’s Street and Rock Hill Street, and sections of Sands Street between Belcher’s Street and Academic Terrace; (II) the temporary partial closure of sections of Pok Fu Lam Road between a point near the Pok Fu Lam Zone Substation and a point about 20 metres south-west of Pao Siu Loong Building of the University of , and parts of the footbridge near Haking Wong Building of the University of Hong Kong and at the south of Pok Fu Lam Road; (III) the temporary closure of a footpath between its junction with Pok Fu Lam Road and a point near The Belcher’s; (IV) the temporary partial closure of sections of Queen’s Road West between a point about 40 metres west of its junction with Whitty Street and a point about 30 metres east of its junction with Whitty Street, and sections of Whitty Street between its junction with Queen’s Road West and a point about 35 metres north of the junction; (V) the temporary partial closure of sections of Belcher’s Street between a point about 45 metres south of its junction with Queen’s Road West and a point about 70 metres north-east of its junction with Sai Cheung Street, and sections of Collinson Street; (VI) the temporary partial closure of sections of Praya, Kennedy Town between a point about 80 metres south-west of its junction with Queen’s Road West and a point about 70 metres north-east of its junction with Sai Cheung Street, sections of Shing Sai Road between a point about 110 metres north-east of its junction with Sai Cheung Street North and a point about 80 metres north-east of its junction with Sands Street, and parts of the Western District Public Cargo Working Area; (VII) the temporary closure of the open space in Ki Ling Lane Playground; (VIII) the temporary partial closure of sections of Ki Ling Lane between a point about 15 metres south of its junction with Des Voeux Road West and a point about 20 metres north of its junction with Queen’s Road West, and sections of the road adjacent to Ki Ling Lane Playground; (IX) the temporary partial closure of sections of Des Voeux Road West between a point about 15 metres east of its junction with Western Street and a point about 40 metres west of its junction with Centre Street, and sections of Queen’s Road West between Ki Ling Lane and a point about 60 metres west of its junction with Centre Street; and (X) the temporary alteration of sections of Ki Ling Lane between its junction with Des Voeux Road West and a point about 15 metres south of the junction, and sections of Des Voeux Road West as vehicular access, during the period from 12 March 2010 to 11 March 2011 for the purposes of or incidental to the railway scheme of the MTR West Island Line. A description of the works to be carried out and the areas of the roads, the cargo working area and the open space to be affected and the manner in which they will be affected is given in the Schedule below. Any person having a compensatable interest under the Railways Ordinance (Chapter 519) may serve a written claim upon the Secretary for Transport and Housing on 15th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong so as to reach the Secretary before the expiration of one year from the closure or alteration of the relevant part or parts of the roads, the cargo working area and the open space or the extinction, modification or restriction of his private right in respect of the relevant part or parts of the roads, the cargo working area and the open space affected by the Order. Notice is hereby given that further closure and/or alteration of the same part or parts of the roads, the cargo working area and the open space or any of such part or parts may be required upon expiration of the Order.
