NWFB Introduces Route 18X with Service Adjustment on , 18, 720 and 720A

(5 July 2013, ) With effect from 14 July (Sunday), (“NWFB”) will introduce a new express Route 18X, running between and . Meanwhile, service adjustment will be implemented on Route 2, 18, 720 and 720A. Details are as follows:

NWFB Route 18X Route 18X will depart from Kennedy Town (), via , , , , , , , Ho and terminate at Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus. For departures from Shau Kei Wan, the bus will travel via , Taikoo Shing, Quarry Bay, North Point, Island Eastern Corridor, Central, Route 4, Sai Ying Pun and arrive at Kennedy Town (Belcher Bay) Bus Terminus. Service hours for both Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town bounds will be Monday to Saturday 7:00am to 7:40pm, Sunday and Public Holiday 9:00am to 7:40pm, at every 20 minutes headway. Full fare will be $8.0 with section fares.

Corresponding to the above new Route, NWFB Route 2, 18, 720 and 720A will have new arrangements from the same day.

NWFB Route 18 The bus terminal of Route 18 at Kennedy Town (Belcher’s Bay) will be relocated to Sai Ying Pun (). For departures from North Point (Healthy Street Central), a new bus stop will be located at West outside Connaught Garden while the original bus stops between West outside Western Market and Belcher Bay Bus Terminus will be cancelled. For departures from Whitty Street, a new bus stop will be located at Connaught Road West outside Hong Kong Plaza while the original bus stops from Belcher Bay Bus Terminus to Des Voeux Road West near Hill Road will be cancelled. Service hours for departures from North Point Healthy Street Central will be 5:30am to 8:00pm on Monday to Saturday, at every 7-15 minutes headway, 6:00am to 8:00pm on Sunday and Public Holiday, at every 10-12 minutes headway. Service hours for departures from Sai Ying Pun (Whitty Street) will be 6:06am to 0:06am daily, at 7-15 minutes headway on Monday to Friday, every 8-13 minutes headway on Saturday, and every 9-15 minutes headway on Sunday and Public Holiday.

NWFB Route 720 and 720A Service hours of Route 720A will be amended to morning peak hours from 5:56pm to 9:00am only on Monday to Saturday, at 10-16 minutes headway on Monday to Friday, and 15-17 minutes headway on Saturday. There will be no service on Sunday and Public Holiday, and passengers may travel on Route 720 alternatively to Wan Chai and Admiralty.

For Central bound of Route 720, departures at 5:50am to 8:56am from Monday to Saturday will terminate at Gilman Street, omitting Taikoo Shing and Admiralty. Departures at 9:06am to 11:25pm will terminate at Central Macau Ferry Terminal, travelling via Taikoo Shing and Admiralty. Departures on Sunday and Public Holiday will travel via Taikoo Shing and Admiralty for the whole

For bound service, departures from Gilman Street at about 6:20am to 9:25am will omit Admiralty and Taikoo Shing, departures from Central Macau Ferry Terminal at 9:32am to 6:46pm daily will travel via , Gloucester Road and Taikoo Shing, with an additional bus stop at Harcourt Road outside Central Government Offices. Departures from Central Macau Ferry Terminal at 6:57pm to 0:10am will travel via , Lockhart Road and Taikoo Shing. Departures on Sunday and Public Holiday will travel via Queensway, Lockhart Road and Taikoo Shing for the whole day.

NWFB Route 2 The new service hours of Route 2 from Sai Wan Ho (Grand Promenade) will be 5:45am to 0:00am daily, at 15-20 minutes headway. New service hours from Central Macau Ferry Terminal will be 6:50am to 1:00am daily, at 12-20 minutes headway for Monday to Friday, and 15-20 minutes headway for Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday.
