Kubik* INTRODUCTION “Get a license or do not sample.”1 The Sixth Circuit’s terse ultimatum in the 2005 Bridgeport Music, Inc. v. Dimension Films decision rejected the com- mon law de minimis2 exception to copying as applied to sound recordings, and for eleven years, Bridgeport stood unchallenged by the courts of appeals, the Supreme Court, and Congress.3 This changed in June 2016 with the Ninth Circuit’s decision in VMG Salsoul, LLC v. Ciccone.4 Confronted with the question of whether the de minimis defense applies to the unauthorized copying of sound recordings, the court openly rejected the Sixth Circuit’s reasoning and held that the de minimis defense applies.5 In doing so, the Ninth Circuit created a circuit split subjecting two centers of the American music industry, Nashville (Sixth Circuit) and Los Angeles (Ninth Circuit), to * Candidate for Juris Doctor, Notre Dame Law School, 2019; Bachelor of Arts, Honors in Philosophy, University of Michigan, 2016.

This is for those who statte that there had not been a worth reading. Its been developed in an extremely easy way and it is just after i finished reading this book in which in fact modified me, change the way i really believe. (Antonetta Ritchie IV) DISCLAIMER | DMCA LAISH0NHZ06Y ~ Book > Chas and Dave - All About Us CHAS AND DAVE - ALL ABOUT US John Blake Publishing Ltd. Paperback. Book Condition: new. BRAND NEW, Chas and Dave - All About Us, Chas Hodges, Bursting on to the music scene in the 70s, Chas 'n' Dave released songs that spoke about life in London; they wanted to be themselves and sing about things they knew about in their own voices. Some people perceived it as a gimmick but thirty-odd years later, thousands flocked across the fields of Glastonbury to witness an unforgettable gig. Some gimmick. With hits like 'Gertcha', 'Rabbit', 'The Sideboard Song', 'Margate' and the achingly beautiful 'No Pleasin' You', they created a sound that was uniquely Chas and Dave - and rockin' to boot. What most people don't know is that both Chas and Dave had previous careers: Dave playing in London country bands, touring as a session musician and touring America with Mick Greenwood; Chas touring as bass player to Jerry Lee Lewis (who helped Chas learn piano) and Gene Vincent. Chas was even a band member of the Beatles for one brief moment in time.

Comparing The Slim Shady LP (1999) with his relatively unknown and commercially unsuccessful first album, Infinite (1996), reveals that instead of transcending racial boundaries as some critics have suggested, Eminem negotiated them in ways that made sense to his target audiences. In particular, Eminem’s influential single “My Name Is,” which helped launch his mainstream career, parodied various representations of whiteness to help counter charges that the white rapper lacked authenticity or was simply stealing black culture.

There is a huge quantity of information about Clint Eastwood his life and career on numerous websites, books etc. We focus mainly on his connection to The Everly Brothers and in particular to Phil Everly plus brief overview of his career. American film actor, director, producer, composer and politician. Eastwood first came to prominence as a supporting cast member in the TV series Rawhide (1959–1965). He rose to fame for playing the Man with No Name in Sergio Leone’s Dollars trilogy of spaghetti westerns (A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) during the 1960s, and as San Francisco Police Department Inspector Harry Callahan in the Dirty Harry films (Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool) during the 1970s and 1980s. These roles, along with several others in which he plays tough-talking no-nonsense police officers, have made him an enduring cultural icon of masculinity. Eastwood won Academy Awards for Best Director and Producer of the Best Picture, as well as receiving nominations for Best Actor, for his work in the films Unforgiven (1992) and Million Dollar Baby (2004). These films in particular, as well as others including Play Misty for Me (1971), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Pale Rider (1985), In the Line of Fire (1993), The Bridges of Madison County (1995) and Gran Torino (2008), have all received commercial success and critical acclaim.

00:00:00 Music Transition “Crown Ones” off the album Stepfather by People Under The Stairs. Chill, grooving instrumentals. 00:00:05 Oliver Host Hello, I’m Oliver Wang. 00:00:07 Morgan Host And I’m Morgan Rhodes. You’re listening to Heat Rocks. Like the rest of you, we are all in our social distancing mode, and this of course is an unprecedented time of isolation and anxiety. And I know many of us, myself included, are turning to art and culture as a way to stay sane and connected and inspired. As such, we wanted to create a few episodes around the idea of comfort music, and we’ve already been engaging with all of you in our audience about it. 00:00:31 Oliver Host To tackle this, we will be using a format that Morgan helped to inspire, the Starting Five, which is both a reference to basketball as well as a nod to those five-CD changers that used to be all the range back in the 1990s. And so both Morgan and I chose five albums, and the last episode you heard her starting five. And today, it’s gonna be my five in terms fo what constitutes my idea of comfort music. 00:00:56 Morgan Host In the third installment, that airs next week, we’ll be choosing a starting five from suggestions that you, our audience, has made via our various social media accounts. So, you asked me and now I’m asking you, what is your definition of comfort music, or what does comfort music really mean to you, especially now? 00:01:15 Oliver Host I really enjoyed hearing what you had to say last week in terms of the albums or the music that reminded you of falling in love wit music, or just falling in love in general.
