RECOMMENDATIONS:

A. That the City Council designate the unnumbered location situated one sidewalk square southerly of and between numbered locations 78A and 77a as shown on Sheet 10 of Plan D-13788 for the Hollywood Walk of Fame for the installation of the name of Adam Sandler at 6262 Hollywood Boulevard.

B. Infom1 the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce ofthe Council's action on this matter.

C. That this report be adopted prior to the date of the ceremony on February 1, 2011.

DISCUSSION:

The Walk ofFame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for insertion into the Hollywood Walle ofFame the name of Donald Sutherland. The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:30 a.m.

The communicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N . Figueroa Street, 3rd Floor, Counter 23".

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has approved the below listed name for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

ADAM SANDLER - (Category - MOTION PICTIJRES) Requested star location to be 6262 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The W Hotel I-lollywood situated on the South side of the street. The star for ADAM SANDLER will be placed in the second row next to the original row closest to the property. The stars situated in the original row where star is near are OGDEN NASH (77a) to the East, and CHARLES RUGGLES (78A)to the West. According to sheet# 10 plan 13788, ADAM SANDLER'S star is in the second row and has no designated number. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, February 1, 2011.

ADAM SANDLER Biography

Adam Sandler has enjoyed phenomenal success as an actor, writer, producer and musician.

HOLLYWOOD, CA.-A new group of entertainers in motion pictures, television, live theater, and recording have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walle of Fame, it was announced today by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 15, and ratified by the Chamber's Board ofDirectors.
