Give yourself enough time to take care of all the little details. Northview receiving timely and accurate information is critical to the success or your event and allows us to provide the best possible service to your guests! Provide Your Guests With An Information Sheet Describing: Date of event, location, arrival & registration times/tee times/dinner time etc Start Time and Tournament Format (including a map & directions to the course) Organizer’s name, phone number & e mail address for questions/inquiries Dress code, course policies, pace of play (see terms and conditions) Rental Club availability (call the Golf Shop to reserve) Reception & Dinner Time Frames Pre Game Food and Beverage Outlets/Time Frames 21-30 Days Prior (together with the Tournament Director) Confirm Tournament Formats/Contests Remember that multiple on course events equates to a longer time on the course for all guests. (long drive/closest to the pin/straightest drive/ hole in one contests with minimum yardages) Confirm registration area requirements Confirm food & beverage requirements (banquet details) Confirm banquet set up (prize tables, auction tables, A/V etc.) Confirm post event cleanup plan of action/volunteer schedules etc 14 Days Prior Provide guaranteed number and finalize payment. PREPAYMENT IS MANDATORY Finalize rental equipment required Finalize list of signage, on course competition requirements Communicate dress code, rules, pace of play, etc to your guests 72 Hours Prior Confirm any final increase in banquet numbers Provide foursome draw – including starting times and/or shotgun starting holes 24 Hours Prior Ensure that signage/logoed pin flags have been delivered to the golf course, with signs clearly labeled with course name & the hole number where it is to be placed Day of Event Check in with the Golf Shop & re-confirm day’s events, sign off on tournament sales report. Campbell and Micheel, who are both most recognized for their lone PGA TOUR major victories when Tiger Woods was dominating the golf world. Campbell became just the second New Zealander ever to win one of golf’s majors when he finished on top at the 2005 U.S. Open. His breakthrough season ended with a victory at the HSBC World Match Play Championship. One of just a few players in history to have a major as his lone PGA TOUR victory, Shaun Micheel shocked the world in 2003 when he raised the Wanamaker Trophy at Oak Hill Country Club making him one of the biggest underdogs to win one of golf’s most prestigious events. Micheel went on to post two runner-up finishes, including the 2006 PGA Championship. Brandel Chamblee will also make his first trip to Calgary. Chamblee, who has gained notoriety more for his outspoken opinions on the game’s biggest stars as an analyst on the Golf Channel than for his lone victory in his 15-year career on the PGA TOUR at the 1998 Greater Vancouver Open, will make one of a handful of starts on the PGA TOUR Champions at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club.

    A Message to the Media n behalf of the players and staff, welcome to the 2004 PGA TOUR season. We appreciate your continued interest in our sport, and we clearly recognize the extent to which our success is tied to the thorough and professional coverage we receive from a Owide variety of global media outlets. As the PGA TOUR begins another great season, we can truly state that the image and competitive spirit of our players has led to the healthiest state in the history of our organization. The Sports Business Journal recently reaffirmed this when it published the “2003 League Report Card,” a survey of corporate sponsors’ opinions of their investment in sports properties. The PGA TOUR ranked first in overall satisfaction among the 16 major sports. This is important as we continue to raise the exposure of our tournaments, provide significant value to our sponsors and showcase the widespread excellence of our athletes. The competition level on the PGA TOUR in 2003 was at an all-time high, with season-ending honors going down to the wire. Tiger Woods recorded a season-high five victories and the lowest stroke average on TOUR and garnered a fifth consecutive Player of the Year honor. Vijay Singh won four times and captured his first money title. Davis Love III won a career-high four times, includ- ing THE PLAYERS Championship, making 2003 the first time in 30 years where three players won four or more times in a season. However, the depth of the TOUR was never more evident. Eleven players age 40 or older combined to capture 15 PGA TOUR titles.

Every week there are opportunities to attend and participate in concerts, plays, athletic contests, art shows, and other activities. Our Reddie and Lady Reddie basketball teams are positioning themselves for the playoffs, so that is exciting to watch. We recently had the opportunity to attend the fourth annual President’s Concert, a special occasion that showcases our best student musicians as they play with a string section from the Arkansas Sym- phony Orchestra. We also celebrated the grand opening of our new studio theatre in Arkansas Hall with a production of Thornton Wilder’s play, Our Town. Incidentally, if you managed to see that production, you know that your Henderson president enjoyed playing a small role as the pedantic Professor Willard. While performances and activities abound, we are also focused on academic success. Do you know that our accounting students regularly score at or near the top of the CPA exam each year? Or, that graduating pre- medical students at Henderson are so prepared that they are almost guaranteed to get admitted into medical school? Or, that our teacher education graduates are among the most sought after teachers in the region? We work very hard to ensure that we recruit a diverse, superior student body that will benefit from the curriculum and activities at Henderson State University.

O’Meara won the Open in 1998 at Royal Birkdale, Lehman hosted the Claret Jug in 1996 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, while Calcavecchia celebrated his only major championship title at Royal Troon in 1989. All three players competed last week at Murfield with O’Meara and Lehman making the cut. The trio of Champions Tour stars will tee it up again this week at the Senior British Open at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club. Fred Couples, who also confirmed his intent to play in Calgary this summer, is the defending champion of the Senior British Open. “The Shaw Charity Classic is committed to attracting the biggest names on the Champions Tour to Calgary, and these three players certainly support that mission,” said Sean Van Kesteren, tournament director, Shaw Charity Classic. “Not only do Mark, Tom and Mark bring four major championship titles with them to Calgary, but they are also among the most respected players both on and off the course. As they proved last week, they can still play at a very high level.
