During the semester a variety of tuition-waived courses and seminars (language levels A2-B2, up to 8 ECTS) are offered for Freiburg Global Exchange students through the Language Teaching Center (SLI). Full-time student load A full-time semester load is 24-30 ECTS which is equivalent to 1 semester full-time at ACU (40cps). How many classes is this? Most classes are 4-6 ECTS each. Generally, students will complete 4-7 classes a semester.

On-campus housing The International Office will provide accommodation in a student dormitory to all University of Freiburg Global Exchange students upon application.

Freiburg is a very popular destination for students to live and study. As a result, there is a significant shortage of housing and rent is quite expensive. This website offers you some information on the different accommodation options for international guests at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität.

All students must pay a €400 – €500 deposit for dormitory housing which will be refunded at the end of their stay. Cost of Living Exchange students are advised to budget for at least €800 – €1000 a month. Approximation per month: • Accommodation: €250 - €400 • Food: €200 • Clothes: €50

All University of Freiburg students must pay administrative fees (€142) for student services offered by the Student Union. Exchange students pay a reduced rate of currently €78/semester. Visa information All Freiburg Global Exchange students have to apply for a residence permit with the local authorities (Ausländerbehörde) after their arrival in Freiburg.
