Beatles Museum: YES I'M A WITCH (JA, ICH BIN EINE HEXE) ist der ziemlich augenzwinkernde Titel der neuen CD mit Songs von YOKO ONO - nicht mit YOKO ONO. Die Presse schreibt, dass "aufregendste Musiker dieser Tage, die verschiedenste ONO-Songs völlig neu interpretieren.” Und da ist tatsächlich etwas dran sein. Es war schon seit den 60er Jahren so, dass YOKO ONO nicht nur avantgardistischer als JOHN LENNON war, sondern auch musikalisch neue Wege ging. Zum Beispiel zeigte sich ONO auf dem Album DOUBLE FANTASY, welches kurz vor LENNON's Tod 1980 erschien, wesentlich experimentierfreudiger als JOHN LENNON, von dem die andere Hälfte der Songs stammte. Die wirklich Hohe Kunst von YOKO ONO wurde und wird jedoch dann deutlich, wenn sie nicht selbst singt. Diesmal scheint es aber so zu sein, dass es jedem der Musiker frei gestellt wurde, welchen Song von YOKO ONO er für dieses Album produzieren würde. Auch konnten Musikfragmente, instrumentale wie gesangliche, den Originalaufnahmen entnommen werden. Fast alle Künstler entschieden sich für den Gesang. Drumherum wurde jeweils eine völlig neue Musik eingespielt. Letztlich sind es in den meisten Fällen die originalen Gesangsspuren neu instrumentiert - und das mehr als zeitgemäß (mit einem leichten Hang zur Technomusik der 90er Jahre). YOKO ONO ist nicht nur die "böse Hexe”, die die BEATLES angeblich auseinander gebracht hat, sondern auch eine avantgardistische Künstlerin mit teuflisch guter musikalischer Magie. Und davon ist auf YES, I'M A WITCH einiges zu hören. Fast genau neun Jahre später gibt es die Fortsetzung. Der nun erweiterte Titel YES I'M A WITCH, TOO ist eine Reduzierung auf die Aussage "Ja, ich bin auch eine Hexe" (also nicht nur) und gleichzeitig ein Wortspiel. Das neue Album hätte auch YES I'M A WITCH TWO heißen können; statt TOO (AUCH) also TWO (ZWEI). Es handelt sich also nicht um ein aufgewärmtes Produkt (mit neuen und/oder anderen Abmischungen dessen, was auf der ersten CD, YES, I'M A WICH. Vielmehr wird das Projekt fortgesetzt, mit anderen Songs von YOKO ONO (nur Walking On Thin Ice ist wieder dabei aber als neue Aufnahme): Alle Titel basieren auf den Originalaufnahmen (bei vielen hat JOHN LENNON mitgewirkt). Daraus wurden Musikfragmente (instrumentale wie gesangliche) entnommen. Fast alle Künstler entschieden sich für den Gesang. Drumherum wurde jeweils eine völlig neue Musik eingespielt. Letztlich wurden in den meisten Fällen die originalen Gesangsspuren neu instrumentiert. The study compared the attitudes of high school seniors in an all white high school with those of seniors in two racially mixed high schools. It was hoped that the study would provide some insights about the effect of intergroup contact on attitudes. However, the study also examined the implications of findings which maintain that contact alone may not break down the stereotypes between the two groups if the contact occurs in situations where status distinctions are maintained. The study thus make a distinction between an integrated setting which seeks to facilitate the positive interaction of a racially mixed student body, and a desegregated setting which does not foster interaction. The racial attitudes of the high school seniors were determined through written responses to a questionnaire of belief statements.
