The housing mix reflects the results of that dialogue and the proposed development responds to housing need data prepared by the RSL and the Local Authority. The scheme consists of 17 social rent houses/bungalows to provide good quality homes for families, couples and the older person. In addition, the Local Authority’s Housing Strategy identifies a need to provide this type of accommodation for people living in the local area. This Design and Access Statement accompanies the application for full Planning Consent in conjunction with the drawings prepared by Ainsley Gommon Architects.

Description: 1.1 This is a full application to replace 32 touring caravans with 25 static units that would be available for use as self-catering holiday accommodation throughout the year on the site known as Cwm Cadnant, near Llanberis Road in Caernarfon (following discussions in considering the application, the number of new units has been reduced from 29 to 25). The site currently has single driveways, a play area, landscaping that includes trees, bushes and green areas, a washroom/toilet block, office/reception, bin storage and specific pitches for tents to the north of Cadnant river, with touring caravans and motorhomes to the south of the river. The proposal would entail dispersing chalets/holiday cabins within the area where the touring caravans are currently located. Ken Skates AS/MS Gweinidog yr Economi, Trafnidiaeth a Gogledd Cymru Minister for Economy, Transport and North Wales Ein cyf / Our ref: KS/497/21 Darren Millar MS [email protected] 24 February 2021 Dear Darren, Further to your exchange with the Trefnydd during Business on the 09 February, I wanted to update you on plans for the Metro. The vision for a sustainable, reliable, efficient and integrated transport system across North Wales and the North East Wales Metro was published in March 2017. Since publication of the vision we have worked with our partners including local authorities and Transport for Wales to develop the vision further and deliver some quick wins. Our initial focus in 2018-19 and 2019-20 has been on providing sustainable access to Deeside, including funding for: Construction of active travel paths to all business on Deeside Industrial Park linking to the wider active travel network New low emission buses for the Deeside Shuttle service Construction of a Park and Ride site at Deeside Industrial Park Development of bus priority measures on the B5129 through Shotton In this financial year we have been able to extend the reach of our funding allocations. and £13m has been awarded to local authorities in North Wales for Metro schemes. The schemes supported include: The purchase of electric buses and provision of charging facilities for a new TrawsCymru T22 service between Caernarfon – Porthmadog – Blaenau Ffestiniog and a new T19 TrawsCymru Connect bus service between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Conwy Valley

  • Consultation Response
To whom it may concern, I write as a family history researcher in Wales, having used the National Library in Aberystwyth, Archives in Caernarfon, Dolgellau, Bangor and Llangefni, and with a keen interest in the social and economic history of Wales. It has struck me in the course of over 25 years' interest in Wales that the potential for unlocking the resources available for research - and the benefit in terms of jobs and tourism that might result - have not been realised. There is, of course, in this, a balance to be struck in putting appreciable content online versus everything which might detract from users seeking the original record and visiting the place of interest to them. I would cite as one example the archives of Bangor University which hold a considerable amount of information not available in the National Library or anywhere else but which is only available to researchers on site. I would contrast that with the Archifdy in Caernarfon which has considerable document-level information online on its own website and Access to Archives (a2a.org.uk), or the National Library's digitisation and online projects. The balance to be struck is what "taster" can be put on line to aid a family historian (or interest a member of the public) versus ensuring they visit? What interesting information is hidden in the 18th century minister's day book in Bangor Archives relating to house fires and local subscriptions or sending a local lady to hospital in Chester to have a mastectomy for cancer? I have had 10 holidays in Bangor, Caernarfon and Aberystwyth with predominantly the aim of visiting the local archives and libraries.

  • Do It Yourself Trips Snowdon
DO IT YOURSELF TRIPS international Student Support Office SNOWDON DESCRIPTION: Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales. With a peak of 1085 metres, it is the highest point in Wales and England. It is popular with walkers, climbers and geologists. There are several walking routes up Snowdon, plus the Snowdon Mountain Railway line (see below), along which you can see breath-taking scenery and the unique geology of the area which has been formed and sculpted by ice age glaciers. For more information about the village of Llanberis, see the separate D.I.Y. Trip sheet. WALKING UP SNOWDON: EQUIPMENT: There are six paths up Snowdon. All are classed as hard mountain walks. Make sure that you wear appropriate clothes and footwear, and check the weather forecast before you set off. Even if it is warm and mild in Bangor or Llanberis, it can be cold and very windy at the top of the mountain – so always take extra layers of clothes. The Snowdonia National Park website has some very important and useful Mountain Safety Advice, including what equipment to take with you. Routes: The Snowdonia National Park website has details of the different routes up Snowdon, the starting points are marked on the map (bottom right). The booklet ‘Snowdon Walking Routes’ also has details of the individual routes. The least-demanding is the Llanberis Path which takes around 6 hours in total. The Miners Track is also very popular, it also takes around 6 hours. The Miners Track is ideal if you wish to take a walk on Snowdon without going all the way to the summit – the walk from Pen-Y-Pass to Llyn Llydaw (the larger lake on the route) is along a not-too-steep path and takes around 1 hour each way.
