2021 Mackay Basketball NBL1 North Sponsorship Package MACKAY BASKETBALL 2021 NBL1 NORTH PROGRAM PARTNERSHIP PACKAGES MACKAY BASKETBALL NBL1 NORTH PROGRAM The Mackay Basketball NBL1 North (formerly QBL) program has been highly competitive since the competition launched in 1987. The program consists of the McDonald’s Mackay Meteors (men) and Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes (women). Combined, our two sides have won 6 championships over the past decade, making Mackay Basketball the most successful club during this span. Mackay NBL1 North teams compete against 13 other Queensland teams, from as far north as Cairns and down south to the Gold Coast. Winning teams from Queensland then play against championship sides from other states for the prestigious NBL1 National Title. The Mackay NBL1 North program provides a pathway for talented local athletes to showcase their skills at a professional level. With a 1200-seat show court venue, an NBL1 North game-night at the McDonald’s Mackay Multi-Sports Stadium provides fantastic, family-friendly entertainment, in an atmosphere unlike no other Mackay community sporting event. 2021 NBL1 NORTH SEASON SCHEDULE In 2021, our Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes and McDonald's Mackay Meteors will play 17 regular season NBL1 North games before the finals – 8 home at McDonald’s Mackay Multi-Sports Stadium and 9 away on the road.     NORTHSIDE WIZARDS BASKETBALL 2020 SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM COACH APPLICATIONS – QSL and SBL The Northside Wizards Senior Representative Program aspires to provide athletes with the best opportunity to reach their potential, not only as basketball players but as members of the Northside Wizards Basketball community. Our coaches are not just part of their individual team, they are members of a broader Northside Wizards Basketball community that includes players, coaches, managers, referees, parents, committee, staff and supporters, all dedicated towards helping our athletes and teams achieve their goals. This task requires the involvement of extremely dedicated volunteers, who will all become contributors to our on-court success. We are seeking persons that can contribute time, expertise and enthusiasm as a Head Coach in our senior program. Basketball Queensland (BQ) and the National Basketball League (NBL) recently announced a new partnership to bring NBL1 to Queensland in 2020. NBL1 will replace the existing Queensland Basketball League (QBL) to create more professional pathways and opportunities for males and females playing basketball in Queensland. The information received so far indicates that there will be three tiers of Senior competition in 2020, being: Top Tier: NBL1 North (replaces QBL) Middle Tier: Queensland State League (New comp available to Associations south of Rockhampton) Entry-Level Tier: Southern Basketball League (SBL) NBL1 is intended to be an integrated 2nd tier competition to the NBL, with the finalists from NBL1 North (Queensland), NBL1 South (Victoria) and NBL1 East (NSW) competing in an end of season finals series to determine the ultimate NBL1 champions. The Queensland State League will be an intermediate level competition, allowing the recruitment of an import/marquee player.

    MEDIA RELEASE NBL1 WEST TO TIP OFF IN 2021 Australia’s premier winter basketball league NBL1 will take another major step in its expansion in 2021 with the establishment of NBL1 West. The NBL has reached a landmark agreement with Basketball Western Australia to rebrand the men’s and women’s State Basketball League (SBL) to NBL1 West. NBL1 West will join NBL1 South (Victoria and Tasmania), NBL1 North (Queensland) and NBL1 Central (South Australia) in an expanded conference based competition in 2021, as the NBL continues to bring basketball in Australia together. Competing NBL1 West teams will be Cockburn Cougars, East Perth Eagles, Geraldton Buccaneers, Goldfields Giants, Joondalup Wolves, Kalamunda Eastern Suns, Lakeside Lightning, Mandurah Magic, Perry Lakes Hawks, Perth Redbacks, Rockingham Flames, South West Slammers, Warwick Senators and Willetton Tigers. Continuing the theme of creating a connection between the conference logos and state colours, the NBL1 West logo has adopted the traditional yellow of Western Australia NBL Chief Operating Officer Andy Crook said: “This is an exciting day for Australian basketball and for basketball in Western Australia with the announcement of NBL1 West.
