The Mackay Basketball NBL1 North (formerly QBL) program has been highly competitive since the competition launched in 1987. The program consists of the McDonald’s Mackay Meteors (men) and Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes (women). Combined, our two sides have won 6 championships over the past decade, making Mackay Basketball the most successful club during this span. Mackay NBL1 North teams compete against 13 other teams, from as far north as and down south to the Gold Coast. Winning teams from Queensland then play against championship sides from other states for the prestigious NBL1 National Title. The Mackay NBL1 North program provides a pathway for talented local athletes to showcase their skills at a professional level. With a 1200-seat show court venue, an NBL1 North game-night at the McDonald’s Mackay Multi-Sports Stadium provides fantastic, family-friendly entertainment, in an atmosphere unlike no other Mackay community sporting event.

2021 NBL1 NORTH SEASON SCHEDULE In 2021, our Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes and McDonald's Mackay Meteors will play 17 regular season NBL1 North games before the finals – 8 home at McDonald’s Mackay Multi-Sports Stadium and 9 away on the road.
