This DVD covers the reformation of the D-Generation X group, from the early hints at Wrestle Mania 22, through the skits, promos, chaos and matches, as D-Generation made life hell for Mr. McMahon. Disc 3. DX takes over RAW , October 2, 2006 Raw 10/9/06: DX vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch - Speaking of Murdoch, after a skit where DX apologizes to everyone they offended last week (while taking a moment to shill more merchandise), he and Cade have a match against them. •Raw 10/16/06: Edge & Randy Orton Impersonate DX - The show begins with a "major announcement" from DX - well, Randy Orton and Edge dressed as HBK and HHH. •Raw 10/16/06: Triple H vs. Randy Orton - Orton and HHH battle (with HBK, Edge and eventually Lita at ringside). •Cyber Sunday 11/5/06: DX vs. Edge & Randy Orton. •Raw 11/6/06: DX Gets Revenge On Eric Bischoff - Deciding to kill two birds with one stone - putting DX over and pimping Eric's book - Vince makes Bischoff "Acting General Manager for one night only". I only have three words to describe this chapter - Big. Dick. Johnson. Oh wait, make it four - Ugh. •Why Do the Fans Like DX? - Coach, Shane, Mikey, Cena and some overseas fans talk about why fans like them. Turns out it's because they're fun-loving rebels! Whodathunkit? •Raw 11/13/06: Jonathan Coachman Puts Bounty On DX - Over in the UK, Coach puts a $10,000 bounty on DX. Cade & Murdoch and Haas & Viscera are the first to try to claim it, but they're certainly not the last. •Survivor Series 11/26/06: DX, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy And CM Punk vs. Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro, Gregory Helms And Mike Knox - From my review found HERE: "This is another match that subtlety demonstrates where Vince's head is as far as ECW is concerned. Not five seconds after Knox hits the ring, Michaels superkicks him and gets the pin. That's right. FIVE seconds. If this doesn't demonstrate what Vince thinks of ECW, then I don't know what does. It's not like Knox was an original ECW wrestler, but he still gets squashed here during his first PPV appearance. In addition, he continues to ignore the pop the CM Punk gets every single time he enters the ring. It seems no matter how often HHH refers to him as "the future of wrestling", he'll never get an adequate push and eventually ECW will go the way of WCW - once again making the WWE the only game in town. That said, this wasn't a bad match. Heck, any time the Hardys are together. In addition to all of the previous material, we're also treated to the following "extras" on disc three. Most of these chapters are basically recaps of the various DX "storylines": •Cyber Sunday 11/5/06: DX vs. Randy Orton & Edge Highlight Package. •Unforgiven 9/17/06: DX vs. Big Show, Shane & Mr. McMahon - Hell In A Cell Highlight Package. •Vengeance 6/25/06: DX vs. the Spirit Squad Highlight Package. •SummerSlam 2006: "Hot Dog" Vignette - A one-minute skit involving Viscera, Kane, DX, Lita and a hot dog. •SummerSlam 8/20/06: DX vs. Shane & Mr. McMahon Highlight Package. •New Year's Revolution 1/7/07: DX Promo - 30 second promo for WWE's "New Year's Revolution" PPV. •Home Video Exclusive: DX Vandalism Package - 7 1/2 minutes of footage from the Vandalism. • Cubed Circle Newsletter 241 – Consistency Is Hard
Cubed Circle Newsletter 241 – Consistency is Hard As many of probably noticed, we have been posting late and sporadically for the last month. This was, obviously, not our intention, but with the second semester eating into my free time, staying up to date is a tall order. Even without the newsletter itself seeing weekly publication the site has still remained up to date on a weekly basis, thanks primarily to co-author Ben Carass, as well as guest writers Paul Cooke and Leslie Lee III. But, the newsletter has survived for well over 241 weeks, and will hopefully thrive in the years to come. I have attempted to make provisions for publishing related tasks which should minimize the risk of major delays (obviously there will be some regular delays, as this late issue can attest), but we have some fail safes in place in order to keep this to a minimum. With all of this said, we have a great issue for everyone this week with Paul Cooke discussing the Pro-Wrestling Only Greatest Wrestler Ever project and his personal experience with the poll, Ben covers the news including tons of results from Japan and the Lesnar USADA violation, the Mixed Bag returns with a look at comedy wrestling, Ricochet/Ospreay, and a potential WWE match of the year -- plus Ben also looks at last Sunday's Battleground show and the first RAW of the brand split (a very good show). Also, for those unaware, we now have an official Twitter account @CubedCircleWres allowing the banger to unprecedented highs at @BenCarass and @RyanClingman.

The myth of the unbeatable fighter is just that, a myth. In what will go down as the single most memorable UFC fight in history, Ronda Rousey was not only defeated, but systematically destroyed by a fighter and a coaching staff that had spent years preparing for that night. On 2/28, Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey were the two co-headliners on a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The idea was that Holm, a former world boxing champion, would impressively knock out Raquel Pennington, a .500 level fighter who was known for exchanging blows and not taking her down. Rousey was there to face Cat Zingano, a fight that was supposed to be the hardest one of her career. Holm looked unimpressive, barely squeaking by in a split decision. Rousey beat Zingano with an armbar in 14 seconds.

Cubed Circle Newsletter – Payback 2013 In this week’s newsletter we look at the 2013 Payback pay-per-view, as well as the fallout from RAW, the rating that the show did, NXT, a decent edition of iMPACT, All Japan fallout and SmackDown. It is a smaller issue than usual, but fear not! As next week we will be back with a look at Saturday’s New Japan Dominion show, as well as ROH’s Best in the World iPPV. We also have a few big changes coming to the newsletter in the coming months, so stay tuned for that. And with all of that out of the way, I hope that you enjoy the newsletter and have a great week. - Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor News WWE Continue Great Run with Payback The past week and a half or so has been a great period for the WWE from a quality perspective, and they continued that run this week with a their 2013 Payback show from the Allstate Arena in Chicago. Going into the show I wasn’t expecting a blow-away card, but they over delivered with some great moments in front of a crowd that has been arguably one of their most consistently great ones over the past few years. The show was expected to be somewhat of an unnoteworthy show, but the opposite was actually the case, with multiple title changing hands, and seeds for the biggest feud of the summer, Brock Lesnar versus CM Punk, being planted during a great outing between CM Punk and Chris Jericho.

  • Encounters at the Imaginal Crossroads: an Exploration of the Experiences of Women in Role-Playing Games
MIAMI UNIVERSITY The Graduate School Certificate for Approving the Dissertation We hereby approve the Dissertation of Christopher J. Dyszelski Candidate for the Degree: Doctor of Philosophy ________________________________________________________ Roger M. Knudson, Ph.D., Director ________________________________________________________ Karen Maitland Schilling, Ph.D., Reader _________________________________________________________ Ann Fuehrer, Ph.D., Reader _________________________________________________________ C. Lee Harrington, Ph.D., Graduate School Representative ABSTRACT ENCOUNTERS AT THE IMAGINAL CROSSROADS: AN EXPLORATION OF THE EXPERIENCES OF WOMEN IN ROLE-PLAYING GAMES By Christopher J. Dyszelski This study was a critical, archetypal, feminist ethnography and psychological inquiry into the experiences of women in tabletop role-playing gaming and its culture. Informed by performance ethnographic practice and the spirit of these games, it is written as an adventurous journey into and encounter with these experiences based on participant observation, interviews with gaming professionals, an online questionnaire of 428 gamers, and series of interviews with female gamers. Ethnographically, this study documents the history and experiences of women in the culture of gaming. It presents profiles of a diversity of female gamers and explores historically the ways that women have established themselves as members of this culture and shaped this traditionally male dominated hobby. It also examines a multiplicity of opinions about and experiences of sexism, prejudice, and discrimination of women in gaming. While demonstrating the progress in the games and their culture to become more inclusive and welcoming to women, it shows there is still far to go. It also demonstrates how despite the possibility and creative potential for gaming and its culture to imagine completely new social worlds, the same power dynamics and social structures are recreated in the games, groups, and culture.

2014 was a unique year for pro-wrestling, one that will undoubtedly be viewed as historically significant in years to follow. Whether it is to be reflected upon positively or negatively is not only highly subjective, but also context-specific with major occurrences transpiring across the pro-wrestling world over the last 12 months, each with its own strong, and at times far reaching, consequences. The WWE launched its much awaited Network, New Japan continued to expand, CMLL booked lucha's biggest match in well over a decade, culminating in the country's first million dollar gate, TNA teetered more precariously on the brink of death than perhaps ever before, Daniel Bryan won the WWE's top prize, Dragon Gate and DDT saw continued success before their loyal niche audiences, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk departed the WWE with one ending up in the most unexpected of places, a developing and divergent style produced some of the best indie matches of the year, the European scene flourished, the Shield disbanded, Batista returned, Daniel Bryan relinquished his championship, and the Undertaker's streak came to an unexpected and dramatic end. These are but some of the happenings, which made 2014 the year that it was, and it is in this year-book that we look to not only recap all of these events and more, but also contemplate their relevance to the greater pro-wrestling landscape, both for 2015 and beyond. It should be stated that this year-book was inspired by the DKP Annuals that were released in 2011 and 2012, in fact, it was the absence of a 2013 annual that inspired us to produce a year-book for 2014.

Most of these films have been released under more than one title, and while we've done our best to use the one that's most likely to be familiar, that doesn't guarantee you aren't trying to find Crippled Avengers and don't know we've got it as The Return of the 5 Deadly Venoms. And so, we've gathered as many alternative titles as we can find, including their original language title(s), and arranged them in alphabetical order in this index to help you out. Remember, English language articles ("a", "an", "the") are ignored in the sort, but foreign articles are NOT ignored. Hey, my Japanese is a little rusty, and some languages just don't have articles.
