We would like to welcome Curtis and his club to the Neuven. They have picked up some good wins and battled through some difficult times finically with Covid as they would nor- mally have a healthy budget but not this year and they have had injuries to key players so we have to be ready for any of his teams as they will be ready! They will look to attack with pace in the wide areas and we must be wary of that. After Saturday’s game against Warrington, the lads will be full of confidence. The result didn’t match our performance. For the fans who were there not only ours but there’s as well knew that we should have won the game as it was all one-way traffic in the second half. Yet again we have been on the wrong end of a decision that changed the dynamics of the game, the officials have a hard job. That is two decisions that have gone against us in a matter of two weeks. To make matters worse we have sent them into the FA and they have admitted both decisions were wrong. A foul should have been awarded in the Basford game leading to the second goal and the penalty decision on Saturday, but it will all swing round over the course of the season and even itself out. It had been great to be on the training ground this week, it’s been while with games and not being able to use Deans due to Covid. We need to fine tune a few things and continue the style of play. All that’s lacking is the consistency in results and wins. not the performance. We have to be more clinical in front of goal, as the chances per game we’re creating is in a very high volume. We now have to finish of the great play we have shown and the chances into goals and then into 3 points. We beat South Shields, we lost narrowly to Warrington and lost to Buxton who are the favourites to win the league. We aren’t far away they need to gel. Our hardest game was in the FA Cup against Workington where we never got to grip their style of play but we still came out on top! Continue to support the lads and the badge as we will need you, Enjoy today’s game, Fowls 4 STADIUM NEUVEN STADIUM Ground Regulations Persons entering the Neuven Stadium on match days are only admitted subject to the following rules and regulations. • Season 2015-2016
Season 2015-2016 Season Review - Results – Tables - Statistics Compiled by Dominic McKenzie with editorial by Dave Watters The 2015-16 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League campaign saw Darlington 1883 romp to the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's Premier Division title in style with a 6-1 victory at Whitby Town, the Quakers winning their third promotion in four years with a game to spare after beating North East rivals Blyth Spartans to the line in what ended as a two way race. The runners-up also lost out in the play-offs to Salford City, the Ammies going up for the second successive season since their takeover by Manchester United’s Class of 92 but this time doing it the hard way after their third place finish. Stafford Rangers and Warrington Town won the EVO-STIK NPL’s two other title races, the latter collecting 106 points to earn the right to play at the highest level in the club’s history. First Division North runners-up Spennymoor Town were promoted alongside them via the play-offs. After leading the First Division South table by double digit margins, Stafford Rangers only took the title from Shaw Lane Aquaforce by a single point on the final day of the campaign. In the top flight, Stamford, Ramsbottom United, Hyde United and Colwyn Bay went down, the last two both suffering second successive relegations. Daventry Town needn’t have bothered asking for voluntary relegation after finishing second bottom to Tividale in First Division South. New Mills and Harrogate Railway Athletic finished the campaign occupying the two relegation spots in First Division North, the Millers earning unwanted national headlines for their never-say-die attitude while failing to win a single league outing all season.

  • Review of 2010/11 – Part 2 – Losing Their Way
Review of 2010/11 – Part 2 – Losing their way Leeds United’s return to the Championship had seen them exceed expectations, despite heavy defeats at home to Preston and Cardiff and an embarrassing 5-2 reverse at Barnsley. The sheen of beating table-topping QPR on 18 December had been dulled by losing two-goal leads against Leicester and Portsmouth, but as 2011 opened, Leeds were fourth in the table, level on 40 points with Cardiff and Swansea, with Rangers seven points clear of that pack. It was heady stuff after three years in the League One wilderness and supporters were hopeful of a real promotion push in the New Year. Andy O'Brien, pictured celebrating his goal against Hull City on 9 November, made his move to Elland Road permanent on New The positive mood was enhanced by the Year's Day announcement that Irish international centre-back Andy O’Brien, on loan from Bolton since 29 October, would make the move permanent. O’Brien, who represented himself in contract talks, commented: “The meeting with the chairman was something I will remember all my life. It was a bit like when I signed my first contract at Bradford with Geoffrey Richmond – that was entertaining as well. My Dad came in with me initially and he is a big bloke of around 20 stone. The chairman’s first words were, ‘We’ll sign the fat one instead.’ My Dad replied he had been on a diet for six weeks, to which the chairman said, ‘Well that isn't effing working, is it?’ Dad is quite quick-witted and said back, ‘Well I don’t know what your excuse is’.

WWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to our Northern Premier League game against league leaders Warrington Town. We would like to extend a warm welcome to their players, officials and supporters along with the match officials and hope they enjoy their visit. It is the best part of a month since we shared the points with Morpeth in our last home game and a lot has happened since then. The disappointing FA Cup exit at Skelmersdale was followed by the frustration of our home game against Gainsborough having to be postponed the day before as a precaution following Covid concerns around the visitors. The pandemic continues to have a big impact on our league at the moment with three clubs currently not being able to play for a short period of time. I am sure all other clubs send them their best wishes whilst hoping it is a situation they can avoid themselves. However, the season has taken a turn for the better in the last week with our first win of the season coming in con- vincing fashion at Grantham last Saturday which was then followed up by a hard earned point at FC United in mid- week. Warrington have made another excellent start to the season and arrive at Giant Axe with a three point lead at the top of the table having won five and lost one of their seven games to date.
