Fossil fuel exploration on these sites is a threat to the people who live on the surrounding land and to Chaco Canyon, New Mexico's crown jewel and the ancestral home of Native Americans of the Southwest. Protection from oil and gas activity around Chaco Canyon is essential to protecting New Mexico's uhique history, environment and vital resources. Instead of continuing to develop fossil fuels on our public lands, we need to make a just transition to renewable energy to create ways to engage in environmentally sustainable, as well as culturally appropriate, economic development. We ask you to cancel the lease sale of parcels: NM-201906-012-24; 26-46; 48-51 and NM-201906-025 & 47 to protect Chaco Canyon and the Greater Chaco Region from oil and gas activities that could destroy this designated World Heritage Site, a landmark like no other on Earth. PREFACE The material for " The Rulers of Strathspey" was originally collected by the Author for the article on Ogilvie-Grant, Earl of Seafield, in The Scots Peerage, edited by Sir James Balfour Paul, Lord Lyon King of Arms. A great deal of the information collected had to be omitted OAving to lack of space. It was thought desirable to publish it in book form, especially as the need of a Genealogical History of the Clan Grant had long been felt. It is true that a most valuable work, " The Chiefs of Grant," by Sir William Fraser, LL.D., was privately printed in 1883, on too large a scale, however, to be readily accessible. The impression, moreover, was limited to 150 copies. This book is therefore published at a moderate price, so that it may be within reach of all the members of the Clan Grant, and of all who are interested in the records of a race which has left its mark on Scottish history and the history of the Highlands. The Chiefs of the Clan, the Lairds of Grant, who succeeded to the Earldom of Seafield and to the extensive lands of the Ogilvies, Earls of Findlater and Seafield, form the main subject of this work.

    Taylor & Francis Reference Style C CSE Name-Year CSE citations are widely used for scientific journals and are based on international principles adopted by the National Library of Medicine. There are three major systems for referring to a reference within the text. This one is the name-year system, where in-text references consist of the surname of the author or authors and the year of publication of the document. There are several advantages of this system. It is easier to add and delete references. Authors are recognized in the text, and the date provided with the author name may provide useful information for the reader. Also, since the reference list is arranged alphabetically by author, it is easy to locate works by specific authors. The main disadvantage of this system relates to the numerous rules that must be followed to form an in-text reference. Also, long strings of in-text references interrupt the text and may be irritating to the reader. This guide is based on Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers, 7th edition, 2006. Note that examples in the CSE manual follow the citation-name system, so need to be converted if you are using the name-year system. EndNote for Windows and Macintosh is a valuable all-in-one tool used by researchers, scholarly writers, and students to search online bibliographic databases, organize their references, and create bibliographies instantly. RE: Unit Management Plan Willowemoc-Long Pond Wild Forest The Unit Management Plan for the Willowemoc-Long Pond Wild Forest has been completed. It is consistent with the guidelines and criteria of the Catskill Park State Land Master Plan involved citizen participation, is consistent with the State Constitution, the Environmental Conservation Law, rules, regulations and policy. Adding to the unique character of this unit is a network of wood roads providing both access and an opportunity for a variety of outdoor recreation. Having only recently acquired (1987/89) a nearly 4,000 acre portion of this unit where most of this network of wood roads exist, a primary focus of this management plan is to propose appropriate recreational use of this trail network. The following plan identifies the various resources, both natural and man-made, which make up the Willowemoc-Long Pond Wild Forest. It describes the historical and cultural influences which have shaped the character of the area.

    The Chapbooks and Broadsides of James Chalmers III, Printer in Aberdeen: Some Re-discoveries and Initial Observations on His Woodcuts IAIN BEAVAN BACKGROUND This essay consists of two related elements. First, an empirical discussion of recent evidence to emerge for chapbook and broadside production in Aberdeen. Second, a consideration of some features of the woodcuts used by James Chalmers III and other chapbook printers, which, in the present context, provide the central evidential theme of this investigation. Previous and contemporary scholars have argued that the north-east of Scotland has the richest ballad and popular song tradition in Britain, and that an analysis of Francis Child’s still unsurpassed and authoritative fi ve-volume compilation, The English and Scottish Popular Ballads, shows that ‘one-third of Child’s Scottish texts and almost one-third of his A-texts [his base or ‘prime’ texts, from which variants may be identifi ed] come from Aberdeenshire’.1 Moreover, ‘of some 10,000 variants of Lowland Scottish songs recorded by the School of Scottish Studies [of Edinburgh University] … several thousand are from the Aberdeen area alone’.2 From the early eighteenth century, popular lowland Scottish song had found itself expressed in printed form, early appearances having been James Watson’s Choice Collection of Comic and Serious Scots Poems, 3 parts (Edinburgh, 1706–11), followed by the Edinburgh Miscellany (Edinburgh, 1720) and Allan Ramsay’s Tea-table Miscellany (Edinburgh, 1723).3 From the mid-eighteenth century also, Scottish chapbook texts appeared in ever increasing numbers, given over to different sub-genres, including histories, prophecies, humorous stories and collections of songs (often called garlands).

Campbell, Prominent Laurel Hill Citizen Dies Family Tree Gives Direct Descent From Old Scotland The Deceased Was At One Time Walton County Commissioner And Was In Good Shape Mr. W. A. Campbell, better known to his intimate friends as "Uncle Bud," passed away quietly at his home in the Magnolia settlement four miles to the west of Laurel Hill, early yesterday (Wednesday) morning. The deceased was 79 years old and one of the first settlers in this section of the State, his great-grandparents being direct descendents from Scotland to America over two hundred years ago. (A biography of the family tree is given below.) The Campbells The following news story is copied from the Pensacola Gazette of December 10, 1842: "There now resides in Walton County, about 75 miles from this (Pensacola place, a man and wife whose united ages is 229 years. The old gentleman's name is Daniel Campbell. He was united to his present wife 94 years ago, on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. He emigrated to this country several years before the Revolution, and was about 50 years old when the war begun. There were no neutrals then and as Mr. Campbell left his native country in consequence of the political troubles of 1745, he was prepared to take part vdth the Colonists against the House of Hanover. He served through nearly the entire Revolutionary War, but although very poor he has not been able to avail himself of the county, or rather of the just remuneration which the pension laws have provided for the survivors of that glorious epoch, because before the passage of the Act of 1832 he was by extreme old age and mental infirmity rendered incapable of making the declaration required by the law.

Bell of Northern Illinois University, accounts for the family’s history from the early eighteenth century until the twentieth century. The book is more than just a list of names and dates allowing for a glimpse into the characters and personalities of these descendants. Photographs are also included, and the second edition offers a list of lost sons and daughters, asking readers to send any available information regarding these Tevis descendants. The Tevis name is first recorded in the United States on April 5, 1707, when Robert Tevis married Susanna Davies in All Hallows Parish in Ann Arundel County, Maryland. The family then spread westward. In Indiana, they settled mainly in Rush, Shelby, and Jefferson counties, but also in Clark, Decatur, Tipton, and White counties. Of course, throughout the years, many other surnames have been added to the Tevis family tree due to daughters marrying into other families.
