RVN‐2 refers to the broadcast license call sign of the station, “2” being the channel number of the frequency. However, RVN‐2 was also the name and reference attributed to the station and the channel for many decades amongst viewers, and up to today, those who experienced RVN‐2 sometimes still refer to the channel as that. RVN‐2 was more than just a television service. Its identity on air and its Kooringal Studio facility became local institutions equivalent to that of a landmark. The station was a major local industry, at one time employing 150 local people in various roles from production to technical to clerical, as well as providing an introduction and training ground for young television employees.

  • DR3 På Flow Og Streaming Mads Møller Tommerup Andersen
MedieKultur | Journal of media and communication research | ISSN 1901-9726 Article – Open section DR3 på fl ow og streaming – en todelt kanalanalyse Mads Møller Tommerup Andersen MedieKultur 2018, 65, 138-157 Published by SMID | Society of Media researchers In Denmark | www.smid.dk Th e online version of this text can be found open access at https://tidsskrift.dk/mediekultur Abstract Th is article conducts a two-tiered analysis of DR3’s development within the last fi ve years and fi nds big diff erences in the DR3 programmes that dominate the respec- tive ratings for fl ow TV and streaming: Sports, big music events and a spin-off show are among the most watched on the fl ow channel while fi ction (primarily SKAM) dominates the streaming numbers. Th is underlines the diffi culties in having what the article calls the two-tiered distribution strategy and in having to produce for two diff erent platforms and viewer groups who can have very diff erent genre preferences, which is almost like managing two diff erent TV channels at once. Th e article’s qualitative contribution shows two trends in the channel’s many factual programmes – respectively the journalistic experiments and the intimate documen- tary portraits – which support the DR3 brand’s core values concerning brutal hon- esty, experiments on one’s own body and absurdities in society. Compared to the channel’s recent fi ction strategy, the conclusion points to a channel that can have the potential to be a sandbox channel for DR by testing new programming con- cepts and time formats.

  • The Association of Hla with Diseases in Japanese
Jpn. J. Human Genet. 31, 323-329, ]986 Review Article THE ASSOCIATION OF HLA WITH DISEASES IN JAPANESE Setsuya NAITO Second Department of Internal Medicine, Fukuoka University Medical School, Fukuoka 814-01, Japan Summao, The diseases associated with HLA in Japanese, for which more than two laboratories have confirmed the association, were listed. The association first reported by Japanese researchers and confirmed by researchers of other countries like the association of narcolepsy and HLA- DR2 was stressed. There are some diseases like Takayasu' disease, the association of which was found and confirmed only in Japanese. On the other hand, there are many diseases, the association of which has been reported in the races other than Japanese. Extremely close association of HLA-B27 and ankylosing spondilitis has been observed in Japanese as well as the other races, but as to the other B27 related diseases the association is not clear in Japanese. HLA antigens associated with type I diabetes mel- litus in Japanese are HLA-Bw54, DR4.1 and DwYT, which are quite different from the ones in Caucasians. The haplotype comparable to Caucasian A1-B8-DR3-Dw3 has not been found in Japanese. The mech- anisms of the associations are still remain to be resolved. Some influential hypotheses such as the presence of Ir and Is genes linked to HLA loci and a single mutation were discussed. Introduction Intensive studies on the association of HLA with various diseases have been done throughout the world during over a past decade and the most of the associa- tion have been established. Now many researchers on this field have concentrated their efforts to find out causes of the association.

Outbreaks of severe dengue disease are increasingly common in regions where dengue was thought to be rare only a decade ago. Our knowledge of the epidemiological and evolutionary processes by which dengue viruses (DENV) invade new populations and become established as persistent viral lineages has been limited by a lack of data relating virus to host and vector populations, as well as the immune landscapes in which they spread over time. Virus lineages enter new populations regularly, but become established only occasionally and are generally detected long after establishment has occurred. The introduction of novel viral lineages has been shown to perturb the immune landscape in endemic environments, often causing massive epidemics and long-term changes in clinical manifestations within the host population. The use of large sets of spatially- and temporally- related DENV genome and envelope gene (E) sequences to investigate these lineage establishment events allows us to trace the timing and routes of viral movement between host populations, including the evolutionary dynamics of the viral lineages themselves.

  • Review of the Communication from the Commission on the Application of State Aid Rules to Public Service Broadcasting
REVIEW OF THE COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION ON THE APPLICATION OF STATE AID RULES TO PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING. THE REPLY OF THE DANISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION (DR) 1. GENERAL 1.1. A number of significant legal developments have taken place in the public broadcasting area since 2001, namely the adoption of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive, the adoption of the Decision and Framework on compensation payments as well as Commission decision-making practice. Do you think that the Broadcasting Communication should be up-dated in light of these developments? Alternatively, do you consider that these developments do not justify the adoption of a new text? The Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) welcomes the opportunity to comment on the issues regarding the application of state aid rules to public service broadcasting – as it can be fundamental to the future existence of public service broadcasting. In this regard, it is essential for DR to stress the importance of every Member States right to preserve the sovereignty to define the national public service remit and provide for the funding. Otherwise, it can be impossible to carry out the obligation to promote the cultural, democratic and social activities which is at heart of public service broadcasting. We emphasize the importance of the cultural, democratic and social nature of public service broadcasting Considering the changes in the broadcasting sector which are increasingly relevant as well as the political statements for example in the Lisbon conclusions, DR finds a revision of the current communication relevant if it takes into account and acknowledges the particular aspects of public service broadcasters (PSB).
