»DAS LEBEN EINES GS« — AKTUELLE SCHNITTMUSTER IM DEUTSCHEN HIPHOP Dietmar Elflein Die wissenschaftliche Beschäftigung mit bundesdeutschem HipHop kreist um mehrere thematische Schwerpunkte: Erstens ist deutscher HipHop eine Straßen- und Jugendkultur mit einem hohen Anteil von Migranten unter den Aktiven und Konsumenten und einer eigenen, mindestens zwanzigjährigen Geschichte. Deutscher HipHop in allen seinen Facetten wird zweitens greif- bar als künstlerischer Ausdruck (nicht nur) dieser Kultur. Diese beiden Aspekte werden häufig mit Hilfe von Begriffen wie »Reterritorialisierung« (z.B. Androutsopoulos 2003; Solomon 2005) verhandelt, verstanden als eine Art lokale und/oder nationale Gegenbewegung zur globalisierten Populär- kultur, oder der Fokus der Beobachtung liegt auf der Ausbildung hybrider migrantischer Identitäten der Aktiven unter den gesellschaftlichen Bedin- gungen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, die mit Begriffen wie »Diaspora« (z.B. Kaya 2001) fassbar gemacht werden sollen. Drittens wird deutscher HipHop über kommerzielle Veröffentlichungen, deren Vermarktung sowie eine Szene-Infrastruktur, die (potentielle) Teil- haber der Kultur mit den notwendigen Accessoires versorgt, zum Geschäft und oszilliert hier zwischen Untergrund-Kleinunternehmertum und den glo- balen Konzernen der Musikindustrie. Die DVD Rap City Berlin (Gumpert et al. 2005) versammelt beispielsweise allein für Berlin 40 HipHop-orientierte, unabhängige Plattenfirmen und ist dabei nicht einmal vollständig. Viertens schließlich scheint deutscher HipHop nicht denkbar ohne den Blick nach Übersee. »African-derived aesthetics, social norms, standards, and sensibilities are deeply embedded in the form, even when it is being performed by individuals who are not themselves of African descent« (Schloss 2004: 3). Anschließend folgt eine ausführliche Abhandlung über die Entstehung und Entwicklung in Deutschland, von den englischsprachigen Anfängen Mitte der 80er Jahre, über den Durchbruch durch die FANTASTISCHEN VIER bis zum heutigen Stand. Dabei wird ein Überblick über die wichtigsten Gruppen, Label und Stadtszenen vermittelt, wobei besonders detailliert auf die Hamburger Szene eingegangen wird. TROOPER DA DON - BIOGRAFIE Ob als DJ, MC, Rapper, Moderator, Schauspieler oder Sexsymbol, Trooper Da Don hat viele Gesichter. Der Mann mit der Stimme aus Eisenspähnen und Vodka, der auch als Sneakersammler bekannt ist, ist vielseitig. Von Kindesbeinen an musikbegeistert, macht er bald seine Liebe zum Beruf. Doch vorher schult er seine Fertigkeiten als Back-up MC bei den Hip Hop Legenden Cora E und den Stieber Twins. Bei dem auf Techno ausgelegten Radiosender "Sunshine Live" moderiert er die einzige Hip Hop Sendung - "Hip Hop Tunes". Auch als MC macht er sich zu der Zeit einen Namen und ist auf vielen Live Gigs zu bewundern. Der erste Plattenvertrag lässt nicht lange auf sich warten. Es soll gleich ein internationaler Erfolg werden. Im Sommer 1999 erhält er mit dem Projekt "Rappers against Racism" für das Album "Only You" in Italien die Goldene Schallplatte. Er belegt gleichzeitig mit Album und Single die Nr. 1 Position der italienischen Charts. Im Jahr 2000 kommt ein Anruf von Moses Pelham (Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt, Glashaus) mit der Bitte, eine gewisse Frau Setlur bei ihrer "Setlur 2000"-Tour als Back-up MC zu unterstützen. Ende 2002 erscheint die Single "Kimnotyze". Platz 3 in den Media Control Charts. Der Sommerhit des Jahres 2003 war "Ride or Die (I need you)" den er mit der Drittplatzierten der ersten Staffel von "DSDS" Vanessa aufnimmt. Platz 4 der Media Control Charts. Kurz darauf wird "TROOP..." veröffentlicht. Der Song, den er mit Hip Hop Legende und Ice-T Produzent Afrika Izlam und DJ Tomekk produziert und einspielt. Für das Grammynominierte Album "Reflection" von Paul van Dyk steuert Trooper Da Don den Song "Knowledge" bei.
