We Are Seasiders PROGRAMME | 2019/20 | NUMBER: 03 #WE ARE SEASIDERS FELIXSTOWE & WALTON UNITED VS CAMBRIDGE CITY SAT 14 SEPTEMBER 2019 - 3PM - ISTHMIAN NORTH !1 Good afternoon to you all and welcome back to the Goldstar ground for this BectVictor Isthmian League North fixture v Cambridge City. I wish a very warm welcome to our visitors this afternoon and of course to the match officials Messrs. Jordan Sandwell, Lewis Venables and Ed Frazer. I hope you find our hospitality meets expectations. Former Southern League side Cambridge City, the ‘Lily Whites’ might prove a hard nut to crack. I am not aware of any previous fixture against Cambridge City, so this is probably new ground for us and them. Both sides have found the going tough in these early stages of the competition and only one point separates the two clubs in the league, Cambridge have four whilst the Seasiders have three. It is early days yet of course, and nothing should be read into the recent results. Maybe we are in a poor vein of form presently and things will improve for us in the coming weeks. Let’s get behind the Seasiders and cheer them to a much needed three points. There was a good gate at the last home fixture so hopefully we will have that again this afternoon. It is said that we have the best support at our level, especially away from home, so be in good voice and be the 12th man on the field. What a fantastic atmosphere we had at the ground on Wednesday last when the ITFC FROM THE CHAIRMAN THE FROM women FC took on the Budgies of Norwich City Women. A bumper 761 crowd witnessed a very entertaining game with the tractor girls coming out 4-1 winners. Hopefully at least half that number will come along to the Goldstar on Sunday to cheer the tractor girls, helping out the Seasiders income at the same time. Next up at the Goldstar is Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday 21st September in the league, followed by a re-visit on Tuesday 24th September in the Velocity League Cup followed by a third fixture on the bounce in the FA Trophy on Saturday 28th September…Phew!! COYSS For the 2019/20 season, the Felixstowe & Walton United First Team (and Reserves) programmes will be online only, available to download for free. We also welcome the Lilywhites Committee and fans, as well as our match officials for the game. Danny knows the City manager Robbie very well, and we expect it to be a very competitive game. Cambridge sit one point above us at present, having drawn one game more than us, with both sides only having won one game each to date. It will be nice to play a side that we don’t know too much about this week, although we will have done our homework. The last two games have probably been my lowest point in management to date, losing both at a whimper really. How we react now will define our management and playing squad, and we will certainly be looking to get back to good habits. As we have said all along, we need to be patient with what Danny and I are trying to build. I know so many of you fans are behind us by the amount of messages and e-mails I have personally received. We have seen some exciting performances so far, but with little reward, and now it is time to start putting some points on the table. I would now like to see our players step up to the mark and be counted, starting with this very game. We need to show more desire, hunger and passion to want to get the results we need, so that we can continue to enjoy this level of football we now find ourselves in. That will be my biggest ask against Cambridge today and I will expect that to continue from here on in. I hope you, the fans, noticed this at the recent Heybridge game. The First Team players remained for much longer after a game, so that they could mingle and chat FROM THE DUGOUT - WATTY! with you, the supporters. This is something you will see more of this season, so that we can become even closer as one club. This means management, staff, players and you, our fantastic fans. We need you so make some noise for us against Cambridge, so get behind the lads. Cheers Watty @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

  • Tilbury Football Club
TILBURY FOOTBALL CLUB THE HISTORY OF “THE DOCKERS” FOUNDED: 1889: FULL MEMBERS: The Football Association: The Isthmian Football League: AFFILIATED TO: Essex County Football Association: The Formation of Tilbury Football Club: Football at the Junior and Intermediate levels had existed in the Town of Tilbury since the early 1870's, albeit on a very local basis. Tilbury was an even smaller town in those days than it is today, and the clubs that were competing then were all either neighbourhood based or the works teams of local companies, most of them being based in the Docks. This meant that all had a limited base, with no chance of ever bringing Senior status Football to the Town, or even of establishing any kind of superiority at County level as Juniors. A few of the Clubs competing at this time were Tilbury Swifts, Tilbury Invicta, Tilbury United and Tilbury Athletic. The more committed in the Footballing community in the Town began to talk of forming one major club bearing the Town name, with the aim of climbing through the Junior rankings and bringing Senior Football to Tilbury. The initial idea was that these smaller clubs would merge to form the new entity, but this soon fell through as it became apparent that none of them were willing to give up their identity and independence. However, despite this opposition, the formation of the new Club went ahead, and one by one all the others quickly fell by the wayside. Except, though, for Tilbury Athletic, who became very strong rivals of Tilbury F.C.
