VARIATIONS TO ROUTE – FOR JOURNEYS TERMINATING AT HALL GREEN Operates standard return route to HALL GREEN Ormskirk Road then circle Hall Green back to Ormskirk Road to terminate at Bus Stop layby opposite Victoria Hotel. Changes to the timetable since the last edition Service 3A – Lancashire County Council has revised the route and timetable, amending the service to additionally serve Tanhouse Tanhouse Road in both directions instead of Grimshaw Road, in Skelmersdale. There has also been a minor route alteration in Parbold to serve the village in an anti-clockwise direction loop (from Alder Lane, Lancaster Lane, The Common, Station Road and Mill Lane back to Alder Lane). This will assist with maintaining reliability by avoiding double running over the railway crossing, and as a consequence provides a service for the eastern side of the village. The timetable has been amended to accommodate these route adjustments and the service continues to run every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime by Rotala Preston Bus on behalf of Lancashire County Council..

But you may not have realised that our graduate placement, Jayne Ashe, has made a head start and has been busy supporting and co-ordinating a new 'Pendle Hill Volunteers Group' over the last year. The volunteers have been able to carry out small-scale tasks to improve the local environment of the hill, including woodland management, surveying, removal of invasives and hedgelaying amongst other things. We see this group growing and developing as the Pendle Hill LP begins its delivery phase next year. Ribble Rivers Trust have been going from strength to strength recently, with new initiatives and projects sprouting up across the AONB, including the ambitious and exciting 'Ribble Life Together' catchment- wide initiative and the River Loud Farmer Facilitation Group.
