5 THE CONCIERGE CLAREMONT CLUB & SPA | A FAIRMONT HOTEL 6 Welcome to the Claremont!

In its 100+ years, our hotel hasn’t skipped a beat. It has housed many service men, dignitaries, families and the local community.

The Claremont is the largest wooden structure east of the Mississippi River. This grande dame of Berkeley has had multiple facelifts during her years. Having worked here for nearly 33 years now, I personally have seen several renovations, and the latest one is the best yet.

I’m known as the “Eloise” of the Claremont (based on the children’s book series written in the 1950s by Kay Thompson) because I was born and raised in Berkeley, and the Claremont was my “playground.”

Growing up around the hotel, I always encountered employees helping others and saw the benefits of being helpful. From this, I made it my mission to help people, too. I have always enjoyed assisting people by telling them where to go, what to do and how to get there. Over the years, I have cultivated valuable friendships with guests and colleagues alike.

As a concierge, I come to work ready to answer requests, from the easiest to the most challenging. I invite you to come see us at the concierge desk, where we can help you turn your moments into memories!

In friendship, Jennifer Cirelli Chief Concierge, Claremont Club and Spa, A Fairmont Hotel
