Thomas purchased the youngster for $95,000 out of last year=s Keeneland September sale. After offering Miller a few congratulatory hugs, Thomas said, AHe was an awesome horse. I loved him. He ended up at this sale because of a bunch of circumstances, but he was the first horse that I=ve done a video on since we used to send videos to the Japanese in the 1990s. I loved, loved, loved this horse. He is just so awesome, so professional.@ Thomas was selling the horse along with partners Dennis and Michael Narlinger. AHe looked like this, but not developed,@ Thomas said of the colt as a yearling. AHe was immature. He has grown a lot, but he had the framework of what he=s turned into. Besides what he looks like, he=s just performed everyday of his life. And he=s got the most laid-back attitude. Pope, bidding alongside bloodstock advisor Chris Brothers from a back row inside the sales pavilion, only got into the action in the last couple of bids. She saw off a challenge from Donver Stable=s Verne Dubinsky, bidding with bloodstock agent Ciaran Dunne at the outside rail of the pavilion, to secure the bay filly. Asked what she liked about the filly, who worked a furlong in :10.1 (video) last Thursday, Pope said, AEverything. She=s gorgeous and she=s correct. She moves very well over the track. STALLIONS 2017 STALLIONS 2017 Your Key to Success Welcome to Rathbarry & Glenview Studs 2017 Dear Breeders, The nature of the bloodstock industry is that each and every year brings fresh challenges as well STALLIONS 2017 as new achievements and 2016 has been no different. The main concern is that there has been increased catalogue sizes to cater for a larger foal crop of 2015, so the necessity for breeders to focus on quality and value is more important than ever. Happily we have witnessed another fantastic year for ACCLAMATION’s progeny on the track with 17 Black Type performers including Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye winner MARSHA and Dual Group 2 winning 2-Y-O MEHMAS. LIMATO has again proved a great advertisement for TAGULA in 2016, when competing at the highest level. He was successful in Group 1 July Cup and Group 1 Prix de la Foret and we look forward to even more successes for him in 2017. As we write the first crop foals by the Group 2 Winning and Dual Group 1 placed 2-Y-O MOOHAAJIM and the Dual Group 1 Winning Miler, XTENSION, are being prepared for the sales ring and we are confident that you will be impressed by their excellent quality and confirmation. King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Ascot Racecourse Background Information for the 65th Running Saturday, July 25, 2015 Winners of the Investec Derby going on to the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Unbeaten Golden Horn, whose victories this year include the Investec Derby and the Coral-Eclipse, will try to become the 14th Derby winner to go on to success in Ascot’s midsummer highlight, the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO), in the same year and the first since Galileo in 2001. Britain's premier all-aged 12-furlong contest, worth a boosted £1.215 million this year, takes place at 3.50pm on Saturday, July 25. Golden Horn extended his perfect record to five races on July 4 in the 10-furlong Group One Coral- Eclipse at Sandown Park, beating older opponents for the first time in great style. The three-year-old Cape Cross colt, owned by breeder Anthony Oppenheimer and trained by John Gosden in Newmarket, captured Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs impressively on June 6 after being supplemented following a runaway Betfred Dante Stakes success at York in May. If successful at Ascot on July 25, Golden Horn would also become the fourth horse capture the Derby, Eclipse and King George in the same year.
