n the last 15 months, UUP mem- bers at SUNY’s four academic medical centers have lived through a real-life horror show as the coronavirus pandemic wreaked devastation at hospitals in Brooklyn, Ion , and in central upstate and Western New York. Hospitals jettisoned normal work schedules and pulled in every staffer who could still stand during the exhausting weeks of the pandemic’s worst surges, last spring and again in the fall.
