Project Report 2020 HOTEL PROJECT REPORT 2020 MAY 29 ARUPRATI HOMES PRIVATE LIMITED Authored by: Janardhan Shar 1 #1 PRODUCT ABOUT THE PROJECT To set up a Budget Hotel having all the modern facilities in an area of 1000 Sq Yards GURUGRAM. TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY AT A GLANCE Tourism in India is important for the country's economy and is growing rapidly. The World Travel and Tourism Council calculated that tourism generated ₹16.91 lakh crore (US$240 billion) or 9.2% of India's GDP in 2018 and supported 42.673 million jobs, 8.1% of its total employment. The sector is predicted to grow at an annual rate of 6.9% to ₹32.05 lakh crore (US$450 billion) by 2028 (9.9% of GDP). In October 2015, India's medical tourism sector was estimated to be worth US$3 billion, and it is projected to grow to US$7–8 billion by 2020. In 2014, 184,298 foreign patients traveled to India to seek medical treatment. The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2019 ranked India 34th out of 140 countries overall. India improved its ranking by 6 places over the 2017 report which was the greatest improvement among the top 25% of countries ranked. The report ranks the price competitiveness of India's tourism sector 13th out of 140 countries. It mentions that India has quite good air transport infrastructure (ranked 33rd), particularly given the country's stage of development, and reasonable ground and port infrastructure (ranked 28th). The country also scores high on natural resources (ranked 14th), and cultural resources and business travel (ranked 8th) The Ministry of Tourism designs national policies for the development and promotion of tourism. In the process, the Ministry consults and collaborates with other stakeholders in the sector including various central ministries/agencies, state governments, union territories and private sector representatives. Concerted efforts are being made to promote niche tourism products such as rural, cruise, medical and eco-tourism. The Ministry of Tourism maintains the Incredible India campaign focused on promoting the tourism in India. 2 #2 PROCESS/STEPS Following are the necessary steps required to construct a world class Budget Hotel. • Acquisition of Land • Feasibility Study. • Market and financial analysis and projections • Financial Closures by Banks or Investors. • Finalization of the Layout • Completion of site survey, design of plant buildings, auxiliary & ancillary buildings, mechanical utilities, electrical services and system. • Planning for enabling works, like construction waterlines, power lines and sewerage, office, labour camp; go down, communication facility etc. • Approach and Internal Roads • Employee Hiring Process • Marketing 3 #3 History of GURUGRAM Gurgaon was historically inhabited by the Hindu people, and in early times it formed a part of an extensive kingdom ruled over be Ahir clan. In Earlier History is told that it was the Village of guru Dronacharya who was the Teacher of Kauravas and Pandvas. During Akbar’s reign, Gurugram fell within the governing regions of Delhi and Agra. As the Mughal empire started to decline, the place was torn between contending powers. By 1803 most of it came under the British rule through the treaty of Surji Arjungaon with Sindhia. The town was first occupied by the cavalry unit posted to watch the army of begum Samru of Sirdhana. It become a Part of the district, which was divided into units called parganas. These units were given to petty chiefs for the military service rendered by them. Eventually these units came under direct control of the British, with the last major administrative change n 1836. After the revolt of 1857, it was transferred from the North-Western provinces to Punjab province. In 1861, the district, which Gurugram was a part of was rearranged into five tehsils: Gurgaon, Ferozepur Jhirka, Nuh, Palwal and Rewari (10) and the modern-day city came under the control of Gurgaon tehsil. In 1947, Gurgaon became a part of independent India and fell under the Indian state of Punjab. In 1966, the city came under the administration of Haryana with the creation of the new state. 4 #4 Modern GURUGRAM Gurgaon, officially named Gurugram, is a city located in the northern Indian state of Haryana. It is situated near the Delhi-Haryana border, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of the national capital New Delhi and 268 km (167 mi) south of Chandigarh, the state capital. It is one of the major satellite cities of Delhi and is part of the National Capital Region of India. As of 2011, Gurgaon had a population of 876,900. Gurgaon has become a leading financial centre in India after Mumbai and Chennai. The city's economic growth story started when the leading Indian automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited established a manufacturing plant in Gurgaon in the 1970s. Today, Gurgaon has local offices for more than 250 Fortune 500 companies. Gurgaon is categorised as very high on the Human Development Index, with an HDI of 0.889 (2017), which is also the highest in India.
