Ok, let’s begin with the greetings... Health, sports, family, love, AND... Good resolutions! I can already guess yours... Eat less, drink less, follow your training plans from A to Z... Not very funny but when we are motivated, as soon as the calendar comes out, we can rapidly imagine that things are going to change and that the season will be excellent !

From our side, this is not good resolutions that we have taken but firm commitments dictated by your warm and encouraging reactions.

First of all, we will keep our PDF version of Tri- maX-hebdo, but additionally it will be translated in English, yes, this is true!

Then we are envisaging interviews, equipment tests, reports, pictures, some heavy stuff as you can see, and we will try to respond to all your questionings and to make you travel as much as possible! Cover’s picture : Tyler Butterfield Copyright : [email protected] So let’s begin smoothly with the first spot... (And the 125th of the series!) in summary, we’ve met Tyler Butterfield and stroke up a conversation with him, ;-)

A small report of actuality about fundamental endurance in , and to finish up, the intro- duction of the new Cervélo P2 ... Just in case you would feel like having a new and quite affordable equipment!

Ah... For that, health, happiness and love are not up to par... So also a lot of dough, dosh and hefty sum for 2014! The team

Tyler Butterfield has certainly been one of the revelation of 2013 in the Long Distance field after fini- shing 3rd in Abu Dhabi International Triathlon but above all 7th in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. After succeeding in cycling, two selections for the Olympic Games, Tyler represents his country Bermuda with pride in long distance triathlon. New P2All-or-nothing entry level

With the new version of one of its most famous models, Cervélo wants to offer a machine adapted to most people with loss-lea- der prices starting from 2.800 dollars in the US. With the launch with great fanfare of the P5 and the new version of the P3, we had almost for- gotten the P2... And yet, this bike released 7 years ago has wi- dely proved itself in triathlon with two victories in the Ironman world championships.

No question for Cervélo to completely put out of mind its famous P2. And as for the other P-se- ries bikes, it was necessary to give it a new style so that it meets the three basic criteria of the range: aerodynamism, rigidity and comfort. And the challenge for this new machine was to offer an all-or-nothing entry-level model regar- ding the quality made in Cervélo.

Do you think it has similarities with its older brother, the P3? You’re not dreaming, it is defi- nitely the P3 which helped for the conception of this 2014 version P2.

Developed aerodynamism guarantee an optimized comfort, trademark of the P3. However, we can notice that the position of the First of all, we can observe the new P2 geometry hands have been raised, then Cervélo shows its which is very close to that of the P3 in order to willpower to offer a frame adapted to most people

The streak is also reduced with a fork which is ad- justed to the tube, such as the P3. Therefore, it’s not the same fork, as costs have been mastered on this model thanks to a more ordinary assembly.

A better rigidity

Thanks to equipments stemming from the last technologies (case of crankset BBright) and a cable-manufacturing plant worthy of top-of-the- line bikes (a better management), Cervélo an- nounces numbers which stands out the revival of the P2 compared to the rigidity of the former version : +16% for the head tube and +6,5% for the case of crankset.

The entry-level version is offered with the fol- lowing equipments : - Shimano group 105 10 speeds

- Crankset FSA Gossamer BBright 50/34 - Shifters Shimano Dura Ace TT - Cassette Shimano Tiagra 11-25 But everything was planned for the most demanding triathletes in terms of equipment with the possibility to settle other components or aerody- namic power supply equipments. There is even a fixing to integrate the Shimano Di2 external battery.

Present in San Diego for the launch of this new range, we could appre- ciate the contributions of this 2014 version while covering a few kilome- ters on it.
