The Zagros Orogen underlying the mountain range reflects a much longer history with the Pan-African basement and Phanerozoic successions. New mapping, radiometric ages, and stratigraphic analyses have enabled advances in our understanding of the Jurassic to Cenozoic tectonic history. The northwestern Zagros Orogen consists of three belts: (1) the Zagros Fold and Thrust Belt, divided into the outer Zagros Simply Folded Belt and the inner High Zagros Belt; (2) the Zagros Suture Zone including radiolarite, ophiolite, and Bisotun limestone thrust sheets; and (3) the Sanandaj-Sirjan Zone, which contains abundant metamorphic rocks. Late Cretaceous ophiolites of the Kermanshah region are part of the outer ophiolite belt of the Zagros Orogen and have formed in passive margin and supra-subduction zone settings. Major events include early Mesozoic rifting, Jurassic subduction followed by a more cryptic interval of subduction in the Cretaceous, multiple ophiolite emplacement on the Arabian margin in the Late Cretaceous to Eocene, and collision of central Iran and the Arabian margin in the Oligocene with final closure of the shallow Tethyan seaway in the mid-Miocene.

    بررسی گونههای عقرب در مناطق صعب العبور شهرستان های اليگودرز و سپيددشت در استان لرستان در سال1392 سید محمود رضا طاهریان 1 محمد حسن کائدی 2 شاهرخ نوید پور 3 علی چگینی شرفی 4 حمید مخیری 5 محمد ساکی 6 1 مربی حشره شناسی پزشکی،2 دانشیار حشره شناسی پزشکی،4 کارشناس ارشد انگل شناسی، 5 کارشناس بهداشت عمومی، 6 پزشک عمومی، دانشگاه علوم پزشکی لرستان، خرم آباد، ایران. 3 دانشیار حشره شناسی پزشکی، انستیتو پاستور، کرج، ایران مجله طب پیشگیری سال اول، شماره اول، پاییز 93 صفحات 46-50 چکیده مقدمــه: مطالعــات مربــوط بــه بیولــوژي و اکولــوژي عقربهــا در ایــران بــا محدودیــت شــدیدي مواجهــه اســت وایــن مطالعــات مــي بایســت بــا شناســایي زیســتگاهها و فــون عقربهــاي هــر منطقــه در کشــور آغــاز و بــا بررســي بیولــوژي و اکولــوژي آنهــا کامــل گــردد. هــدف از ایــن بررســي شناســایي و تعییــن فــون عقربهــاي مناطــق صعــب العبــور و عشــایری در اســتان لرســتان بــود. روش کار: در ایــن مطالعــه توصیفــي از 21 منطقــه عشــایري صعــب العبــور شهرســتانهای الیگــودرز و سپیددشــت بــا توجــه بــه نــوع بافــت خــاک و پوشــش گیاهــی نمونــه گیــری شــد. اطﻻعــات مربــوط بــه دمــا، رطوبــت وارتفــاع از ســطح دریــا محــل مــورد نظــر یادداشــت. جمــع آوری عقربهــا بــه روش صیــد شــبانه بــا اســتفاده از چــراغ قــوه مــاوراء بنفــش و عینــک دیــد در شــب، دو ســاعت قبــل از غــروب آفتــاب و ابتــدای شــب انجــام شــد. نتایــج: در مجمــوع 659 عقــرب از دو منطقــه الیگــودرز و ســپید دشــت صیــد گردیــد کــه بــه دو خانــواده همــی اســکورپیونیده و بوتیــده تعلــق داشــتند. از خانــواده همــی اســکورپیونیده: جنــس همــی اســکورپیوس لپتــوروس و از خانــواده بوتیــده جنــس هــای: بوتوتــوس سلســی آی، مزوبوتــوس اپئــوس، آندرکتونــوس کراســیکودا، ارتوکایــروس ایرانــوس و بوتاکــوس ماکروســنتروس صیــد گردیدنــد.

The taxonomic and faunistic status of the spider family Oecobiidae in Iran, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan is revised. A new species, namely Uroctea gambronica sp. nov. (♂) is described from southern Iran, and the male of U. grossa Roewer, 1960 is described and illustrated for the fi rst time. Additionally, new faunistic data are provided, including the fi rst records of Oecobius putus O. Pickard- Cambridge, 1876 and U. grossa in Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, respectively, and the re-evaluation of previously misidentifi ed and questionable records of this family in the region. The aim of this study was to gather all records of three main malaria vectors in Iran during the last decades, and to predict the current distribution and the environmental suitability for these species across the country. Methods: All published documents on An. superpictus Grassi (s.l.), An. maculipennis Meigen (s.l.) and An. sacharovi Favre during 1970–2016 in Iran were obtained from different online data bases and academic libraries. A database was created in ArcMap 10.3. Ecology of these species was analyzed and the ecological niches were predicted using MaxEnt model. Results: Anopheles superpictus (s.l.) is the most widespread malaria vector in Iran, and exists in both malaria endemic and non-endemic areas. Whereas An. maculipennis (s.l.) is reported from the northern and northwestern parts, Anopheles sacharovi is mostly found in the northwestern Iran, although there are some reports of this species in the western, southwestern and eastern parts. The area under receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) for training and testing data was calculated as 0.869 and 0.828, 0.939 and 0.915, and 0.921 and 0.979, for An.

Mycosphere 4(3), 363–454, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/4/3/2 Abstract A short history of the knowledge of Iranian smut fungi is given followed by an account of the 99 known smut fungus species (Ustilaginomycetes) from Iran. Each species is presented with its authors, place of publication, synonyms, description, host plants and geographic distribution. A key to the 16 genera, to which these smuts belong, and keys to the species within each genus are given. There is also a host plant – smut fungus index. The following six species are known only from Iran: Anthracoidea songorica, Entyloma majewskii, Tilletia rostrariae, Tranzscheliella iranica, Urocystis behboudii and Urocystis phalaridis.
