CNADA is happy to again offer “Poinsettias for Peace” to our communities. The poinsettia sale supports CNADA (Custer Network Against Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault). Funds raised provide services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in five eastern Montana counties: Custer, Garfield, Powder River, Rosebud & Treasure.

Please order by Friday November 6, 2015 to assure timely delivery. Plants will be delivered to your home, office or church by December 4th.

Community Outreach Classes Geneology Instructor: Elaine Forman Nov. 2, 9, 16 - Mondays, 5:30 pm - 7 pm / MCC—Rm 109 / Cost: $25 Starting to trace your family tree or need help in continuing? Do you know where to look for the information you need? If not, this three-session class will explain many of the documents that are available to you and where to find them. Whether you have never written a resume or just need to update one you already have, this course will teach you the best ways to present your experience, skills and career goals. Snappier Snapshots: Taking Better Photos Instructor: Martha Mintz Nov. 9, Monday, 6 pm - 8 pm / MCC - Room ? Cost: $25 This intro to photography class is for those who simply want to kick up a notch the snapshots they take on a daily basis, even if they are on a cell phone camera. We will cover the basics of good photography; composition, focus, automatic camera settings (what do those little faces and trees mean?), basics of light and how it impact photos, and the best time of day for photos and more. Be sure to bring your camera!

Intermediate Photography: Step Up Your Photo Game Instructor: Martha Mintz / Nov. 16, Monday, 6 pm - 8 pm / MCC, Room ? / Cost: $25 For those who love to take pictures already and are ready to explore what their camera can really do, this class is for you. While this class will best serve those with dSLR cameras (cameras with interchangeable lenses) there will be plenty of good information for those using point and shoot camera’s, too, including cell phones to a degree. Skills taught will be; quick review of basic photo techniques, choosing the right lens/focal length for the job, going off auto, how to manipulate your camera’s manual setting including ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focus and more, manipulating natural and artificial light, how did they do that?, taking a look at great photos and deconstructing how they achieved the perfect shot, how to review your own work to take better pictures, and answers to “should I be shooting in RAW?” (Hint: the answer is YES!)

Excel 2013: Level 1 for the Workplace Instructor: Patti LeCraft Nov. 2, 4, 9 & 12, Mon/Wed/Thurs, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm / MCC, Room 314 / Cost: $55 (Includes Book) This class covers the basic functions and features of Excel 2010. After an introduction to spreadsheet terminology and Excel’s window components, participants will learn how to use the Help system and navigate worksheets and workbooks. Then they will enter and edit text, values, formulas and pictures, and they will save workbooks in various formats. Participants will also move and copy data, learn about absolute and relative references and work with ranges, rows and columns. This course also covers simple functions, basic formatting techniques and printing. Finally, students will create and modify charts and learn how to manage large workbooks. Cost includes book.

Excel 2013: Level 2 for the Workplace Instructor: Patti LeCraft Dec. 7, 9, 14 & 16, Mon/Wed, 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm / MCC, Room 314 / Cost: $55 (Includes Book) This class is a fast-paced, comprehensive, intermediate level course to improve your skill level and become more efficient with Excel 2010. Completion of Excel 2010: Level 1 is recommended prior to taking this course. Students will learn how to use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently, and they will start working with more advanced formatting options including styles, themes, backgrounds, and watermarks. They will also learn how to create outlines and subtotals, how to create and apply cell names, and how to work with lists and tables. This course also covers advanced charting techniques, worksheet auditing and protection, file sharing and merging, and workbook templates. Cost includes a book.
