The area enjoys a typical alpine climate with summer weather from May - Oct and winter weather from Nov - April. Average summertime highs reach the low 80s, with average winter lows hovering in the teens. Elevations range from 6,700 up to 8,500 feet. The property slope is generally north facing. The ranch enjoys an incredibly diverse and scenic landscape with everything from cliffs, caves, and canyons, to secluded high mountain meadows, timbered draws, and live water frontage.

Lower reaches consist of a montane-shrubland ecosystem with a pinion/juniper mix and traditional deciduous forage including scrub oak, manzanita, serviceberry, mountain mahogany, skunkbrush, snowberry and bitterbrush.
