The Story Coming in the Medicine Hat Tigers Are 2-1-0-0 So Far on Their Five Game BC Road Trip and 11-5-1-0 on the Season The Story Coming In The Medicine Hat Tigers are 2-1-0-0 so far on their five game BC Road Trip and 11-5-1-0 on the season. Wednesday night the Tabbies paid a visit to the CN Centre to battle the Cougars and scored five goals in just under nine minutes to win 5-4. The Orange and Black are led by veteran forwards James Hamblin with 22 points (11G, 11A) and Brett Kemp with 21 points (4G, 17A). After tonight’s game in Kelowna, the Tigers will visit the Sandman Centre to play the Kamloops Blazers tomorrow night. Tigers vs. Rockets The Tigers and the Rockets will meet tonight for the first and only time this season. The last time these two hockey clubs faced off was December 15, 2018, in Medicine Hat with Kelowna winning 2-1. Veteran forward Leif Mattson had both goals for the Rockets while James Hamblin had the Tigers’ lone tally. Over the past five years, the Tigers are 2-3-1-0 against the Rockets. View from Kelowna The Kelowna Rockets will be looking to return to their winning ways after falling 6-3 to the Victoria Royals on Wednesday night. The Rockets are 9-5-1-1 on the season and they are led by 2019 Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick Nolan Foote with 22 points (9G, 13A) and 2019 CHL Import draft pick Pavel Novak with 20 points (10G, 10A). After tonight’s battle with the Tigers, the Rockets will travel to Spokane to play the Chiefs Saturday night. Tigers Talent Nick McCarry is a hard working, skilled forward in his second season with the Orange and Black. The 18-year-old Calgary product has stepped up to play a bigger role with the team while on this BC Road Trip scoring the team’s first goal against the Giants on Sunday and picking up a couple assists in Prince George on Wednesday. Look for McCarry to make an impact in tonight’s tilt. Captain’s Corner Captain James Hamblin is the Tigers’ top point producer with 22 points (11G, 11A) in 17 games played so far this season. The 20-year-old Edmonton native is a speedy, hardworking, determined two-way forward who leads his team by example. Hamblin can be counted on in all situations during the game. Quick Hits Captain James Hamblin scored his first career WHL goal against the Kelowna Rockets, October 6th, 2015. Hamblin has since scored 90 goals in 278 games played. Hamblin is ranked 5th in the league for goals with 11 and 9th in the league for scoring with 22 points. Veteran forward Ryan Chyzowski has been selected to play for Team WHL during the CIBC Canada Russia Series. Chyzowski has 20 points (10G, 10A) in 17 games played. Rookie forward Cole Sillinger was named the WHL Rookie of the Month for October. Sillinger has 17 points (8G, 9A) in 14 games played. He is currently playing for Team White at the U17 World Hockey Challenge. Veteran forward Brett Kemp is on a multi game point streak with 17 points (3G, 14A) in the Tigers’ last 10 games played. Kemp has 21 points so far this season (4G, 17A) and he is in a three-way tie for most assists in the league with 17. The Tigers will be holding a full team autograph night after their game November 19th against the Brandon Wheat Kings. About the Medicine Hat Tigers The Medicine Hat Tigers are a junior hockey team in the Western Hockey League (WHL) who play out of Medicine Hat, AB and were established in 1970. In 49 seasons of playing major junior hockey, the Tigers have won 2 Scotty Munro Memorial Trophies, as well as, 212 playoff games which led to winning 43 playoff series, raising 33 banners, winning five Ed Chynoweth Cups and two Memorial Cups. .

The Tigers defeated the Hitmen 3-1 Saturday in Medicine Hat before falling 4-2 on Wednesday in Calgary. The Orange and Black are 23-11-1-1 and they are led by their Captain James Hamblin with 55 points (19G, 36A) and veteran forward Brett Kemp with 43 points (16G, 27A). After tonight’s game, the Tabbies will host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday before departing early next week to Manitoba to take on the Brandon Wheat Kings Tuesday and the Winnipeg ICE on Wednesday. Tigers vs. Hitmen Tonight’s game between the Tigers and the Hitmen will be their third meeting in seven days and their fifth battle of the season. The Hitmen won all three games played at the Saddledome and the Tabbies have won the lone game played at the Canalta Centre. Jonathan Brinkman scored the game winning goal in the shootout while rookie goaltender Garin Bjorklund stopped 29 of 32 shots and three out of four shooters in the shootout. It was the Tabbies’ final game of a nine game road trip where they went 5-4-0-0 and improved their overall record to 13-6- 1-0. The Tigers are led by veteran forwards James Hamblin with 29 points (12G, 17A) and Brett Kemp with 23 points (5G, 18A). Tigers vs. Oil Kings For the second time this season the Tigers and the Oil Kings will faceoff. The Oil Kings took the first meeting 4-2 on October 25th, 2019. The last time Medicine Hat defeated Edmonton was January 16th, 2019, in a 4-3 shootout. After a slow start to the season, the Orange and Black finished strong posting a 7-3-0-0 record in their last 10 games before the Christmas break. The Tigers continue their scoring by committee approach with every skater on the team lighting the lamp to score the team’s 110 goals. Leading the way for the Tabbies are veteran forwards James Hamblin with 38 points (17G, 21A) and Ryan Jevne with 34 points (16G, 18A). Tigers vs. ICE The Tigers and the ICE have met twice so far this season. The ICE took the first game 5-0 while the Tigers won the second game 4-3 in a shootout. Ryan Jevne scored the game-winning goal in the shootout and goaltender Jordan Hollett stopped 32 of 35 shots. Brinkman had his first two goal game of his WHL career and Søgaard earned his third shut out of the season stopping all 24 shots faced. The Orange and Black are 34-16-2-1 so far this season and they are led by their Captain James Hamblin with 81 points (33G, 48A). After tonight’s game in Edmonton, the Tigers will return home to host the Winnipeg ICE on Monday for an afternoon tilt.
