JCI Brahmavar sponsored prizes and distributed the same to children. Also dinner was provided to the children. Hostel head principal appreciate JCI team social responsibility and wished them to conduct many more useful programs in the coming years. We distributed clothes for the students who were not able to afford. 2. Terrace Garden and Organic Fertilizer Perpartion: 13 July 2018 At Mrs Clera Roche home, Handady The program was organised along with Small Christian Community Handady Trainer: Mrs Prasanna Bhat, owner of Annapurna Nursery and President of Samruddi Mahila Mandali Cherkady(R) Chief Guest: JFP Manoj Kadaba 3. Self-Awareness and Leadership Program: 15 Aug 2018 Resource Person: Mr Raghvendra Nayak ZVP Raghvendra Prabu Karwalu inaugrated the session and wished best of luck for the session and to the students. JFP Manoj Kadaba interacted with the students and briefed the importance of the program. Mr Raghvendra Nayak guided the students on self-awareness and leadership qualities. About 110 students participated in the program from different schools. 4. Inagraution of JC Week: 15 Oct 2018 Venue: Haikady Halliyana, Govt higher primary school Mr. Ravi Raj Shetty, Chairperson Mabhala Parvati Eye Hospital, Shiroor Mudumane, inaugurated the program. Guest of the program was JC Geethanjali Nayak, and Panchayat president. The program was organized along with Indian Dental Association, Udupi. The first day of the program was medical camp for the local people. Eye check-up, dental check-up and diabetes check-up were conducted. Around 235 people took the advantage of the checkup. Eye specialist from Parvati Mahabala Shetty Memorial Eye Hospital, Shiroor, Dental medical team from Indian Dental Association Udupi District (Siddapura) and Medical health officer from Primary medical health hospital from Aaverse lead the camp. 5. Youth Empowerment Program: 17 Oct 2018 Venue Govt high school, Haikady R. Prakash, Sub inspector -Shankar Narayan police station, inaugurated the program. Resource person for the program was JC ZVP Pashupati Sharma. 90 minutes talk was given by the JC ZVP Pashupati Sharma to the children and the training was well appreciated the students. SI R. Prakash spoke about the value of being police and encouraged the studens to join any security forces. JCI is a nonprofit organization of young active citizens who are engaged and committed to creating impact in their communities. Active citizens are individuals invested in the future of our world. JCI gathers active citizens from all sectors of society. We develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions and take action. As globally minded young people, we all have rights, responsibilities and share goals. We find targeted solutions to local issues benefitting our communities, our world and our future. Embracing new ideas, collaboration and diversity, we have the passion and courage to address the critical challenges of our time. Naland a national level training program was attended by JC Joeal D’Almeida in the month of August (12th to 15th) held at Kochi. Among the three members of the zone, he represented our LOM..

The decline in groundwater is a global problem due to increase in population, industries, and environmental aspects such as increase in temperature, decrease in overall rainfall, loss of forests etc. In Udupi district, India, the water source fully depends on the River Swarna for drinking and agriculture purposes. Since the water storage in Bajae dam is declining day-by-day and the people of Udupi district are under immense pressure due to scarcity of drinking water, alternatively depend on ground water. As the groundwater is being heavily used for drinking and agricultural purposes, there is a decline in its water table. Therefore, the groundwater resources must be identified and preserved for human survival. This research proposes a data driven approach for forecasting the groundwater level.

    DISTRICT DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN- UDUPI UDUPI DISTRICT 2015-16 -1- -2- Executive Summary The District Disaster Management Plan is a key part of an emergency management. It will play a significant role to address the unexpected disasters that occur in the district effectively. The information available in DDMP is valuable in terms of its use during disaster. Based on the history of various disasters that occur in the district, the plan has been so designed as an action plan rather than a resource book. Utmost attention has been paid to make it handy, precise rather than bulky one. This plan has been prepared which is based on the guidelines from the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM). While preparing this plan, most of the issues, relevant to crisis management, have been carefully dealt with. During the time of disaster there will be a delay before outside help arrives. At first, self-help is essential and depends on a prepared community which is alert and informed. Efforts have been made to collect and develop this plan to make it more applicable and effective to handle any type of disaster. The DDMP developed touch upon some significant issues like Incident Command System (ICS), In fact, the response mechanism, an important part of the plan is designed with the ICS. It is obvious that the ICS, a good model of crisis management has been included in the response part for the first time. It has been the most significant tool for the response manager to deal with the crisis within the limited period and to make optimum use of the available resources.

    CHAPTER - 1 Introduction The Department of Agriculture being one of the prominent developmental departments is continuously engaged in the service of the farming community. The improved technical know-how and research results emanating from various sources are being implemented in about 121.62 lakh hectares of rainfed and irrigated land and thus enabling 78.32 lakh farming families to obtain higher yields by adoption of improved technologies. To increase the overall Agriculture production, the Department of Agriculture has taken up several schemes in the year 2017-18. During the year 2017-18 it has been estimated to produce a total food production of 135.06 lakh tones as against the tatget of 135.00 lakh tonnes . This can be attributed to the implementation of special programs like Krishi Bhagya, Establishment of Custom Hiring Centres, Bhoochethana, National e-governance, Bhoosamruddi, RKVY, Organic farming etc., and the timely supply of agriculTural inputs like seeds, micro nutrients, bio-fertilizers and P.P. chemicals. To increase food production and maintain food security, the department has taken up several schemes during the year 2017-18; detailed Head of Account wise information of all the schemes is given in Chapter - 2. Vision: To ensure food security and also to make Agriculture a sustainable and viable vocation for the livelihood by the end of 2020. Mission: To enhance Agriculture production and improving the income level of farmers by successful implementation of various state and central schemes. Objectives: 1. Dissemination of technology/information to farmers. 2. Ensure supply of agriculTural inputs and their quality control for enhanced production and productivity.
