Something Interesting About You Personally or Professionally That People Might Not Know?

Two of my most memorable sport moments occurred in North Side Gym (Elkhart). Obviously winning the 2007 IHSAA 3A Semi State Championship over No. 1 St Joseph’s, and the other, when my daughter Shanna Zolman-Crossley (husband Andrew) became the all time leading scorer in Indiana Girls’ Basketball history, going for 50 in the memorable game. It’s a joy to be able to share the game of basketball with so many athletes over the years, along with my son Josh (wife Bria) and my wife of 27 years, Lynette.

IHSAA -- Celebrating More Than 100 Years of Pure Sport! Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award Recipients

At the conclusion of each championship game, members of the IHSAA Executive Committee presents the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award to an outstanding senior participant. The recipients of this award, who were nominated by their principals and coaches, must excel in mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability in basketball. Ms. Roy joined the IHSAA executive staff in 1972, was responsible for girls basketball from the inception of the tournament series in 1976 until her retirement in June 1999. Regarded both statewide and nationally as a pioneer in girls athletics, Roy served on the IHSAA executive staff longer than anyone in the history of the Association. Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, IHSAA corporate partner, presents a $1,000 scholarship to the school in the name of the recipient.
