Shelters are alcohol, drug, and weapon free facilities. Items to bring to General Population shelters include: Official identification card and medical identification card (if applicable) Water and some food (3-day supply) Clothing and bedding (air mattress, etc.) Personal items (toiletries, prescription & non-prescription medications, and first aid supplies) Important papers Mobile phone and charger Misc. items: Glasses, hearing aids, games, toys, battery-powered radios, flashlights, and batteries If going to a Pet Friendly shelter, items must also include Shot Records, Food, and a Crate. In addition; bring names, addresses, and phone numbers of family & friends should you need to contact them. Always tell your family & friends where you have relocated so they know your whereabouts. Also leave your porch light on when relocating so public safety officials that are checking neighborhoods after the storm will know where there is electricity.
