The Dead Daisies in Havana The band the Dead Daisies is expecting to rock and roll Havana with two concerts this week featuring music from the 1970’s and 1980’s. The statements were made by the multi-national rock band at a news conference in the Cuban capital. The Dead Daisies, which emerged in 2012 and is made up of musicians who are active or were part of important rock bands, such as The Rolling Stones, Guns and Roses, Whitesnake or Mink, is visiting the island since Sunday at the invitation of the Cuban Music Institute and the Cuban Chapter of the World Network in Defense of Humanity. With the title Rock for Peace, the concerts will be held at the Maxim Rock Theater on Wednesday night and at the Salón Rosado de la Tropical on Saturday. The multi-national rock group will be joined by the Cuban band Anima Mundi and Cuban singer David Blanco. While on the island, the rock band will exchange views with musicians and students from the specialty and is expected to give a master lecture at the Maxim Rock. Made up of Marcos Mendoza, Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed (Guns and Roses), David Lowy (Mink), Briam Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne), Darryll Jones and Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones) and John Corabi (Motley Crue), the Dead Daisies was set up following a meeting between singer-songwriter Jon Stevens and guitarist David Lowy, and has held concerts in the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Israel, and other countries. Pivo in cvetje Laško The Dead Daisies na festivalu Pivo in cvetje Laško Laško, 29. maj – Avstralsko ameriška superskupina The Dead Daisies bo poskrbela, da bo živahno sobotno dogajanje na festivalu Pivo in cvetje Laško še dodatno oživelo. Ljubitelji rocka tega koncerta zagotovo ne bodo zamudili. Za obiskovalce bo tudi letos odprt priljubljeni festivalski kamp, kjer se življenje nikoli ne ustavi. Glasbeno najbolj pester slovenski festival bo tudi letos dobro poskrbel za svoje rockerske privržence. Eden od vrhuncev bo nedvomno sobotni nastop avstralsko ameriške skupine The Dead Daisies. Superskupina, ki jo je leta 2013 ustanovil ritem kitarist David Lowy, je v kratkem času svojega delovanja dosegla resnično veliko. Odre so si delili z največjimi imeni svetovnega rocka. V zgodovino svetovnega rocka pa so se zapisali kot prva zahodna rock skupina, ki je leta 2015 nastopila na Kubi. Takrat sta bila v skupini tudi Darryl Jones in Bernard Fowler, ki sicer nastopata z The Rolling Stones. Prav z njimi sta bila na Kubi tudi naslednje leto. Po nekaj menjavah članov so se ustalili z zasedbo, ki se bere kot enciklopedija rocka. Na vokalu je nekdanji član Mötley Crue John Corabi, za kitarske solaže skrbi Doug Aldrich, ki je igral v mnogih skupinah, kot so Dio in Whitesnake, član slednjih je bil tudi basist Marco Mendoza, na bobnih pa je Deen Castronovo, ki se ga spomnimo po igranju z Bad English, Journey ter z Ozzyjem Osbourneom in Stevom Vaijem. K nam prihajajo na vrhuncu turneje ob izidu svojega četrtega albuma Burn It Down, po krajši japonski turneji in pred severnoameriško turnejo, ki bo trajala od začetka avgusta do začetka decembra.

The Answer, The Dead Daisies, 05.12.16, Bochum, Matrix Ein ganz besonderer Leckerbissen für Freunde gepflegter Rockmusik bot die Matrix in Bochum: The Answer aus Irland sowie die Dead Daisies aus Australien beziehungsweise den USA heizten dem Publikum im gut gefüllten Club ordentlich ein. Beide Bands spielten in der Doppel-Headliner Show je über 80 Minuten. Den Auftakt in Bochum machten die Dead Daisies. Diese Supergroup begreift sich nicht als Einheit, die über Jahre hinweg im gleichen Lineup auftritt. Nein, The Dead Daisies sind das Projekt des australischen Multimillionärs David Lowy, der die Band gründete und die einzige Konstante in der Besetzung darstellt. Finanziell unabhängig, engagiert er seit vier Jahren talentierte Musiker um sich herum. Zur Zeit sind dies Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, The Scream), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake) sowie Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol). The Dead Daisies konzentrierten sich bei ihrem Set auf ihr aktuelles Album, streuten aber hier und da gecoverte Songs ein. So wurden Stücke von Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who und The Beatles gespielt und der Auftritt der etwas älteren Herren überzeugte. Extrem routiniert, aber doch mit einer gehörigen Portion Spielfreude und Professionalität arbeiteten sich die Musiker durch den Abend, posten um die Wette und verbreiteten eine prächtige Stimmung.
