This camp had far reaching effects on the local artists and institutions as a result of widespread media coverage in newspapers and on TV and gave visitors an insight into the artists creative objectives.

Printmaking Education Bhupen Khakhar at KCA’s first meeting in September 1983 stated that “the artist in residence should work with other”. Nearly all the workshops conducted at KCA are by artists in

Bombay International School students residence and in printmaking mostly all of its techniques are learning the process of etching designed into 1-5 day workshops for all ages that take place at least five times a year. Spreading awareness about the art of printmaking is something KCA feels strongly about as nearly 70% of visitors to the Centre do not understand how a print is produced, are put off by print terminology and therefore its value is undermined. “Prints ought to get more respect that they are given” (ARTIndia article quote by Sandhya Bordewekar) is what KCA too believes in!

Katsutoshi Yuasa demonstrating Japanese Over the years demonstrations and lectures in printmaking woodcut techniques by foreign artists such as Gaby Moore, Meghan Shah, Katsutoshi Yuasa, Gaelle Pelachaud, Azyz Sharafy, Zahra Yazdaninia, Neda Tayallaee and others continues to help impart knowledge about printmaking and the skills and techniques used around the world. As part of study tours to , many institutions and visitors from across India have made it a point to visit the Centre and participate in printmaking workshops.

Also inside the Gallery a number of books on printmaking some donated by the British Council over 35 years ago will be on display for visitors to peruse. The exhibition will continue till 10th September from 3pm to 7pm.
